Bless. Not like our Dave to make re-cycled political hay out of a crisis...to me, blatant opportunism always looks ugly. When will politicians finally figure out that most people can actually see things for pretty much what they actually are these days?
You just know that there was a Cabinet Meeting where the FIFA crisis came under discussion with all the Tory ministers frantically "brainstorming" various scenario's for Dave to harness the feelgood momentum of Sepp Blatter's imminent dimise, whilst at the same time figuring out how to best obfuscate their cynical methods of dressing the issue up for the electorate
Stand by for:
"Let's call it the war on....drugs..no...war on err...Terror?...no, we've done that...OK war on...war on err...Terror 2?...no that's not right either George...hang on..errr, err..corr...CORRUPTION!...that's it...The War on Corruption...write that down Boris! Excellent...now, who wants a pay rise?".
I can't wait to see them wheel Cameron and Obama out, standing side by side arms rigid as a juggernaut in resolute solidarity on that G7 stage whilst flanked by an equally serious looking 4 foot Japanese admiral and a few cross-eyed Euro plebs...
Is this really the best we can do? Is it? Balls is it.
