Seems like there is going to be a good number heading over for this, the cheap seats seem to be selling well!!
Has anyone scouted out any decent bars/pubs for a few beers?

4 of us from essex booked for both days, staying in the courtyard marriott. Looking forward to a messy weekend and hopefully seeing Shaqiri in a red and white shirt.... Another 1 added to our group today. Any ideas of bars before/after the games?

Can we just turn up and pay or what?

Post by elgreco on Jul 6, 2015 20:45:58 GMT
I reckon there will be no problems turning up and paying, I know of a fair few that aren't bothering with tickets until they get over there! Suppose the only problem is that you risk the cheaper tickets selling out and your having to pay 70 quid or whatever it is for the category 1 tickets!!

I somehow didn't see the print at home option when I brought mine and after a couple of email exchanges I've found out I'll have to take my passport to the first game in order to collect them. I did suggest a drivers license but they weren't going to accept that for some reason (Germans eh?)
Don't fancy that so they've said I can re-order tickets and let them know my first orders invoice number in order to get a refund and ensure that I click the print at home option second time round.
Just in case anyone else has been as thick as me.

Would think the best meet up pub would be Jamesons Distillary Pub , Friesenstraße 30, 50670 Köln , big enough and certainly friendly / welcoming enough to football fans etc . We fly in on Thursday but a midday Friday meet up would be a good start to the weekend .
Like a lot on here we re staying in the Courtyard Marriot , Jamesons is a bit of a trek from the hotel but well worth the visit.

This place? www.jamesonpubs.com/Looks a little bit out, or is it busy with locals bars there as well? There's plenty of places around the cathedral area

Just to let everyone who is going to Koln know, the match tickets include the tram to and from the stadium. So there won't be any trouble getting tram tickets.
