Not with his exact words as there is technique and skill, but it doesn't seem a #1 goal of the season.

Mourinho: "It was a goal every top player in the world would love to score, from Diego Maradona to Lionel Messi, all these brilliant players... some of them did it, but not all of them. He can. It’s a fantastic goal...it’s a goal for his history, probably the best goal for the season in the Premier League. It’s a pity it doesn’t give him any points.”

If one of the "greats" had scored it like Messi, Maradina, Pele, our Stan etc. etc everyone would be saying it was the greatest goal ever. But because it was Adam, who's not everyone's "cup of tea" (certainly not Spurs) and because it was Stoke (arguably the least fashionable club in the Prem.)

There's more people that vote in favour of other goals, the majority of this board would vote with Adam because he is a Stoke player, it works two ways pal. Michael Owen didn't even think it was the best goal of the weekend, lol.

I can see the reason for the debate though, I love moments of great skill personally.
Look at Messi s goal from the weekend he had no right to pick that ball up where he did and score taking out a number of defenders on his way, does that make it better or worse than charlie s?
Taking nothing away from his goal because it was fantastic but technically the majority of professional footballers have the ability to score a goal like charlie s albeit they may not have the vision or the kahunas to attempt it where as very few could achieve what Messi did perhaps no one else in the world.
I've not seen the other goals in the goal of the season category hence why I use Messi as an example but there will always be those types of goals that have been hit by chance from range and those that have taken pure individual pace, strength, skill and brilliance. It depends how you look it but I'm sure each of the goals were fantastic in their own right.

It's rarely attempted because it's really really hard to pull off as much as anything else

Surely more players can do it but don't which is what makes it brilliant. I'm not saying one is better and you should all see my point of view its a game of opinions. It's the old Messi or Ronaldo situation, no one is right or wrong as there is no correct answer and their never will be. Sent from my C6603 using proboards

It's funny that some of the people who were upset, because I didn't agree with them on Charlies goal, are the same people that said Diouf was wank on his 2nd game.

I preferred nzonzi's vs Liverpool over Adam's. Both of which better than Wilshire and Mata.

I preferred nzonzi's vs Liverpool over Adam's. Both of which better than Wilshire and Mata. I actually thought that Adam's goal against Liverpool was a genuine stunner and very smart. He obscured the shot from the keeper by nutmegging Skrtel whilst simultaneously hitting a fierce daisy-cutter that hugged the inside of the post. Keeper never stood a chance. He used to score quite a few for Blackpool in exactly the same way.

Not with his exact words as there is technique and skill, but it doesn't seem a #1 goal of the season. So as you don't agree with the larger part of his statement , you don't actually agree with him at all.

I wouldn't vote for Charlie Adam because he's a Stoke player, I'd vote. For his goal because it's one of those moments where you suddenly say OMG and you are left with your mouth agape. Most brilliant goals aren't repeated by a player again and again ( messi excepted) Charlie Adam's goal has the spur of the moment wow factor, you just don't expect it.

Whenever they show Pele's greatest moments, they always show the one he missed from the halfway line. It really isn't that easy.
