Will try to answer all the Spurs bits in here: The thought is that Yedlin was brought over as a marketing ploy because he is supposedly so highly thought of in the states. Believe it or not Spurs have more supporters club sin North America than any other English team. I know, I was surprised too! Someone suggested Yedlin should go out on loan and I believe this is the plan for next season. Regarding, Dier. Stoke tore all our players apart - not just this kid. You were too good for us both times this season. What areas will Spurs improve on? Levy, for once, will act quickly in the coming window. Rumours are that we are negotiating for Danny Ings and Kieran Trippier. We need two new strikers because Adebayor and Soldado are both surplus to requirements. No secret that Morgan Schederlin is Poch's main target, although if he goes elsewhere Cabaye is next in line. Kaboul, Abdebayor, Lennon, Capoue, Walker, Chirches, Holtby and Stambouli will ALL go. Poch wants a close look at Delli Ali (MK Dons) and Alex Pritchard (Brentford) on the Far East tour before deciding if they will be in his squad next season or go out on loan to another Prem team. There are quite a few Academy lads who are on the verge of breaking through like Kane, Mason and Bentaleb have too. Cheers Harry, had no idea walker was being shipped out.

A Burnley workmate told me this morning he had been told from a reliable source on the Burnley coach returning from Villa Park that Trippier is Stoke bound.

There is LITERALLY NOTHING factual in that article that suggests they're in for him at all, i think its just press conjecture. Having recently bought Dier, Davies, Yedlin and Wimmer are they really after another defender anyway? They badly need a defender that can go through a player, what they have is just too light weight.

And in fainress, Yedlin has the potential to be a good player. He certainly looked the part at the World Cup. He didn't IMO, he just looked rapid.

I was just answering the "are they really after another defender anyway?" question rather than anything specifically Trippier related, it would be madness if they weren't.

I don't think their squad is that bloated tbh! They have 2 right backs but one is an American who they seemingly don't trust and the other is Walker who isn't the best. I think they do actually need him. Bloated with players who just haven't cut it: Chiriches, Fazio, Paulinho, Capoue, Kaboul, Stambouli, Soldado, Mason, Adebayor. Add to that players like Dembele who just don't feaure, a worrying GK situation with Friedel retiring and Lloris likely leaving. As bad as this sounds Walker might be one of their strongest players in the grand scheme of things and they will need to strengthen other areas first. i wouldn't put mason in the list of players who haven't cut it

He adds a certain solidity to what is otherwise a rather lightweight midfield. Hard worker and has a lot of potential in my opinion. Replaced Paulinho and was much better than him - although perhaps that's not saying much, is it ? ????

I guess he does do that but he's nowhere near good enough to be playing regular Premier League football.

I have not seen enough of Benjamin Stambouli to be honest. Clearly, Poch did not want him and he was got in as a cheaper alternative to Morgan Schderlin.

As a Burnley fan, I'd be quite surprised if Trippier went to Spurs - even if he was promised a start every week. He is from a very close family and I cannot see him enjoying the bright lights of London. A massive pay rise and a "guaranteed" starting spot is the only way they would tempt him and, even then, I doubt he would settle and would probably looking for a move back up north.
He has also been linked with Bournemouth - he knows Eddie Howe well, but it's a long way from his mum, brothers and boxing mates in Manchester.

Their local paper still has us as among the interested parties. If he still wants to live in Manc, it's got to put us in the box seaat, especially if he'd have Walker and Yedlin to compete with. Lancs Evening Telegraph BURNLEY are bracing themselves for bids for Kieran Trippier after losing their place in the Premier League.
Tottenham have emerged as the favourites to sign the right back but it is understood Spurs are just one of a number of clubs keen to sign the 24-year-old.
Trippier signed a contract extension to the summer of 2017 at the end of last season, but included in that contract was written a £3.5million release clause in the event of relegation.
And a handful of top flight clubs have been lining up to take advantage since the Clarets suffered the drop just over a fortnight ago, despite a 1-0 win at Hull City.
Arsenal have previously been linked with Trippier, while Newcastle could retain their interest after preserving their Premier League place on the final day of the season.
Southampton could also be an option for Trippier, depending on the future of Nathaniel Clyne, although Saints boss Ronald Koeman seems confident of securing the Manchester United target on a new contract.
Stoke are another club understood to be weighing up a bid for Trippier, who has grabbed the attention of Premier League scouts in his debut top flight season.
But it is believed that, contrary to reports elsewhere, newly promoted Bournemouth are not in the race to sign the defender.

Unless we're confident of offloading Bardsley or Cameron what would be the point?

He's very quick and he has talent. He's just a bit raw. Give him some game time to adjust and he could be a quality player.

I'd love him here. But I get the feeling that Hughes is looking at other positions now that Cameron has extended his contract.
