Did anyone see his column where he wrote about a part time footballer getting a life ban for headbutting a woman on the pitch.he then added that the thug although having a life ban would probably be on the stoke city teamsheet.absolutely disgusting.

If this is true the club should sue him.

It doesn't matter what people do or don't write this weekend. It's now in the record books. Steven Gerrards last game.
Stoke City 6. Liverpool 1

Don't care what they write anymore. If managers want to turn up with 4 centre halves thinking we can only launch the ball as we are a bunch a thugs. Like Spurs they will easily get turned over

Rid Liddle got 'run' at Stoke in 1992 when he was following Millwall, this account of the incident he wrote in the Spectator never fails to make me chuckle >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This was the first violence I’ve seen while watching my team, Millwall, for decades, and as violence goes, it was a few yards short of the full Tarantino. I should have seen some violence at Stoke in 1992 when a group of ten or 12 of us were walking back to the station after the game and, as we turned a corner, were confronted by Stoke’s ‘firm’, at least 30 strong North Midlands untermensch with tattoos and no reason to live. ‘Stand together: remember we fear no foe where e’er we go,’ the self-appointed leader of our cadre advised, but not quickly enough to stop me from legging it at the speed of light. Millwall famously don’t run, but I am my own person, of independent sensibilities. Since then, though, nothing much.

He clearly doesn't like us.. his piece in the Sunday Times talked about the successful managers in the middle of the table listing Monk, Koeman, Pardew and even TP but no mention of Hughes

I picked up a copy of the Sun a few years ago. It had a column saying that all teachers were communists and should not be allowed to brain wash the UKs children.
The rationale was that anyone in an union was a raving left winger. Of course, it overlooked the fact teachers are strongly recommended to join a union by schools In case they ever get wrongly accused of something and need legal support.
Basically any one can have a ridiculous opinion and it will be printed as long as it fits Murdoch's current political party of choice. The more contraversial the better as it gives the paper free publicity when people talk about it.

My favourite ever sun article was when they sent a reporter to a Millwall game that had never been to a football match in his life.He said there was a small block of supporters behind the goal shouting "seig heil" all game.
They were playing Brighton that day!!!

Why do people say 'why should we be bothered'? Of course we should be bothered. If we'd have been bothered more about the shawcross slating, it might have been nipped in the bud ages ago with a threat of someone being sued.
The only thing missing from this thread is 'precious'.
