Fantastic season and wasn't it so fitting that it ended with not only one of Stoke's greatest ever victories but also with the unveiling of Gordon Banks statue? What a day to remember!
Yesterday's victory and the one at Man City in August are like two wonderful bookends to the season, which really started when we beat City. Both matches in which Diouf starred, but both in which the whole team shone. Forget all the driven about how bad Liverpool were, Stoke didn't give them a chance to get started, just like the home games against Arsenal and Spurs. I hope MH uses these three games as an object lesson on how to start a match and blow the opposition away.
Well done Stoke and thanks again for a wonderful day and season.

and MH was true to his word that his teams perform better in the second half of the season and that was despite all the injuries.

We also finished closer to champions league qualification than relegation. Lets consign the 40 pts reached bollox that some still churn out as a target to history.

We've taken 22 points from 16 games against the 8 sides that finished above us, beating all but 2 of them at least once.

We also finished closer to champions league qualification than relegation. Lets consign the 40 pts reached bollox that some still churn out as a target to history. Its always a target and should remain one. We are simply not a big enough club to think otherwise. There is no reason why we can't apply it in a different way though. Use it as a 40 points by a certain stage of the season and see if you can beat it each year.

Least goals conceded is an interesting one. I thought so too. Our defence has been shuffled almost constantly, the goalie has slipped below his usual standard and at least 75% of our defenders should have been fucked off, and still we have done better than under TP. ????
