Stoke City 3 - 0 Liverpool. Not out of the question. 54 points 9th place; & +1 goal difference Could be a wank waiting to happen

I like your thinking, but it won't happen; you don't understand how the EPL works - the big teams always get the breaks ; the ref will have been 'coached' by the EPL as to what the televised media expect from stevie's last game, and as its a flagship game, expect a stevie penalty towards the end - it may take several attempts, but he will score eventually!!!

Have we ever finished with a positive goal difference in the premier league?

Have we ever finished with a positive goal difference in the premier league? Not yet! So a 2 or 3 goal win would be well worth aiming for on Saturday.

It was -2 in 2010/11 - it has been as low as -17 since we arrived in the Prem.

Is 0 a positive goal difference? It is a neutral goal difference - but it is still better than a negative one!

Bit cynical and I hope you're wrong. First and foremost this should be a great game of football and a chance to demonstrate that Stoke can play an attractive style of football. We've generally raised our game against the better teams (Spurs, City, Arsenal). Let's give Gerard (and all the Stokies that may be leaving) a game they'll remember. Enough of this sentimental crap already. Finally, we'll look pretty silly if we give Bego a big send off only to find he's back next season.

It is going to a long afternoon if they put in a Burnley/Swansea performance. Nothing to lose, hope Sparky puts out the best team possible and we go for it. Tributes to Wilko et al. can wait until if/when we're 3 up or during our lap of honor.

As long as we don't lose against the bindippers it will also be a kind of record in that we will only have had the double done over us once this season and will have had TWO doubles to our credit.
