Today brought into sharp focus that he may be a spent force for us. Prior to his arrival on the pitch we looked dangerous and likely to score from most of our attacking play. When Crouchy was introduced we looked toothless and reverted to launching long balls. I think we would have scored had we kept Diouf through the middle and Arnie out wide.

He is limping through to the end of the season until he can have an operation. The club have said thats why he can only play 15-20 mins at the moment. Give the guy a break!

Needs an op on his groin. Fair play to him in all honesty. If I was married to his missus i'd be permanently injured with a groin problem.
Excellent self control from the big man.

Like Odem, he looks desperately unfit.

Not an attack on big Pete but yeah, why bring him on in that case? Silly.

Crouch came on with a known groin injury that needs surgery for our side in a game he really didn't have to because we're safe, they are relegated and he gave his all like so many other players, got to give it to him. Stoke through and through that lad.

He has been good for us but I will disappointed if we start next season with him on the bench never mind in the team.
Same goes for Walters who since he scored a hat trick against QPR in January has been absolute tosh.
Cant be sentimental at this level.
Bring on Bojan and get rid of the deadwood I say.

Thought he held it up quite well considering we went for the draw last 10 minutes, some decent touches and passes. Agree with the posts above about odemwingie, he's looked sharp the last two but went missing today.

I love Pete BUT the problem is when he's on there is the all consuming temptation to play high balls to him at the expense of different methods. The thing is, it doesn't work. It;s easy for a defence to stifle and we do other things better.

But some of the most sumptuous football we've seen from Bojan has been when he's had Crouch laying it off and playing little intricate one-twos with him.

Obviously carrying an injury - hes getting surgery in the summer - was still neat and tidy on the ball in spite of an obvious physical impedimnet

Didn't think he did that badly myself, but anyway why don't we just let him have his operation? No reason to wait any longer now at least as we'll end 9th no matter what happens in the last game!

Injuries are going to cast a bit of uncertainty over our squad throughout the summer. I worry about Odem and Bojan - absolutely no guarantees either are going to recover former glories. Crouch is getting on and any injuries can really take their toll and even Ryan looks like he has struggled for a large chunk of the season. Moses is always an injury waiting to happen it seems. If they all pull through we are in a great position but we just don't know.

If he's injured why play him at all? Makes no sense to change things for the sake of it. Crouch is one of the best players we've had for many years and I hope he comes back strong next year I reckon he's got another two seasons at the top left in him

If he is injured, why risk him. Not sure why we don't try one of the kiddies on the bench, even if we don't bring them on, or bring Odem or Walters on up front

Given all of the circumstances bringing Crouch on was a mad idea.
That it didn't work was unsurprising to say the least.
