Like Mr. Savage thought on MOTD. I think technically it may have been although had Vertonghen not got their a split second before Mame then the Senagalese would have produced the prefect finish so he should take 100% of the credit either way.

It looked like an own goal to me, but I'd rather Diouf got the credit.

Looks like Mame's goal in the picture but if you think the ball came in from the left then I suspect Vertonghen's foot got the first and only touch otherwise Mame would have produced the perfect slide rule finish but as others said we should definitely keep this to ourselves

Diouf's goal, no question. Diouf had no doubt it was his goal - that's good enough for me!

At the time, I definitely thought it was Dioufy.
But, having seen the tidal wave of slow-mo replays last night, it was probably an OG.
Hopefully it doesn't get taken off him.

Who cares.........I am more than happy for Diouf to have it.............confidence leads to more goals for strikers and that's what we all want..let's face it.

Diouf for me. Did anyone hear Phil Neville say Mark Hughes has another big job in him. Got on my wick a bit that did!

You can tell whose it was by the celebration. Diouf went mental, Vertonghen didn't celebrate at all.

It was Diouf doing what a striker should be doing putting the defender under great pressure and forcing him into those kind of positions I think it was great play from Diouf and he should claim the reward.

Surprising that it's been taken away from Diouf - it was far from clear cut.
Players react instinctively to goals too, and don't normally throw themselves into the crowd for an OG, especially if it's a relatively insignificant 85th minute goal.

For crying out loud - what next? Crediting Charlie Adams' goal against Chelsea to the greek goddess Fortuna because he was too lucky?

It was an own goal all day..! The replays clearly showed it coming off Vertonghen. Just because Mame put himself there, doesn't mean he should get the credit for the goal - though JV would've cleared it had it not been for Mame being there.
Is it time football went the way of NHL, and said 'no own goals'.... In which case, this would've been accredited to Arnie?
