I have the "pleasure" most weeks of listening to Praise & Grumble on Radio Vale as I walk home up the canal after the match.
Stoke have just comprehensively beaten Spurs in our most professional performance of the season. One or two of our players have given individual performances of the season. England star Harry Kane and the rest of the Spurs attack are entirely negated by a defence ably marshalled by Ryan Shawcross.
... and what do Radio Stoke choose to spend the last 10 minutes discussing? - The thrilling details of Port Vale's retained list.
Pretty much nobody listening at this time is going to be interested surely? Also the derision shown to the caller saying we are "a Benteke short of Champions League" was particularly uncalled for. The guy might have been a little over excited in his opinion but there was no need for that. Unprofessional. They need to get rid of Blakeman and his bitter Valeite friends.
Grrrr... like I said!

I said the same thing last week or the week before, Premier league = world wide audience with a more money than god turnover and radio joke are more interested in a pub team which has less than 5k interested fans

As much as I loathe The Vile, they are (unfortunately) a Potteries club, albeit it a shite, insignificant one.
My real gripe is the amount of coverage Crwho receive (not today admittedly).

Fair enough but Vale didn't play today so how many Vale fans are going to be listening? Not many I suspect, given that Stoke won!

Even Vale fans don't seem interested in the Vale anymore.

Does Radio Joke employ anyone from this area anymore? On the odd occasion I listen they can't pronounce local area for example Meaford or Trentham properly.

Blakeman also said he hadn't heard about Crouch carrying any sort of injury and didn't understand why he wasn't being played.
Hughes and Bowen have been saying for the past three weeks how they're only using him sparingly because of a groin injury that will need an operation in the summer. Any decent local sports presenter should have known that, surely.

I've long since given up on RS but on the few occasions I have caught any sports programming the concentration on a small 3rd division outfit has been laughable. How this is deemed to serve the designated catchment area the Lord alone knows!

That about Port Vale near the end of the show was pathetic. It was dragged on for far too long.

Totally agree with the original poster, although I have not listened tonight. They ARE biased GRRRRRRR. A couple of weeks ago they were spunking over this Crewe Vale relegation fight, and if im not mistaken, you know how they have the commentary of the goals at the end of the show...they played Vale...they played Crewe...they did not even play Stoke who should have been first.Stoke are in the higher division. We had to ensure a few years of Vale supremacy with Radio Stoke and The Sentinel when they were higher than us. Radio Stoke are really getting on my nerves these days..and its not just about 'poor old Stoke'. ITS NOT RIGHT

Its about time Radio Stoke only talked about Stoke on FM and DAB. Then they can talk about the rest on AM.
Easily sorted.

Dunner let it get to you. Just think how it must grind their gears that we're playing a world renowned football team in Tottenham Hotspur of the pitch and finishing mid table in the most high profile league in the world whereas Vile and Crowe are scroffling round at the arse end of division 3 managing to scrape survival on the last day of the season. Don't listen to the third rate shite. If it was a commercial station it would have gone bust years ago.

I don't particularly begrudge Radio Stoke covering the Vale, or even Crewe for that matter. But today neither club played. The entirety of the phone in was about Stoke so why incude 10 minutes about Vale? How many Vale fans were listening? The retained list came out at 6am. Any Valey worth his salt would have heard about it in the day. Was it to do with fairness or balance? Then why wasn't 10 minutes of chat about Crewe awkwardly shoehorned into the programme as well? Grrrrr...
