Appalling if true but before getting too upset I would want more clarification.

Utter bollocks if you ask me Ian wright, Les Ferdinand,Tony Daley, Carlton Palmer and that off the top of my head The story says that Taylor rejected the request. And regardless of his results in the job it's great credit to him if he did. If this is true, and there appears to plenty of reason to believe it is, it shows that problems concerning race within the game at this time were deep-rooted. Hopefully it's improved since this time, but in truth we don't really know. The most positive outlook is that you can't imagine someone from the FA sitting down with Hodgson and saying this sort of thing today.

I really hope it isn't true, but I listened to Graham Taylor on the radio yesterday and he was surprisingly evasive. He's denied it yes, but he didn't outright deny it on the radio, he said something along the lines of:
"I remember meeting Richie at the function at Watford, I remember talking to him, but I don't remember talking to him about black players".... so wait, it's possible and you just don't remember? He was so shifty about the way he said it. For me, you either come out and say "it's bollocks, he's lying, we never had that conversation" or you come out and you say "yes, we did have that conversation". Saying he "doesn't remember' gives off the impression he's denying it, without actually denying it. He also said "Oh I'm going to seek perhaps legal advice" as if he was saying "no, I won't seek legal advice, but let's pretend I will". I found it quite shifty, and tbh, I've always had a lot of time for Graham Taylor. His record to be fair, is spot on with black players, he had plenty throughout his formative years so hopefully it is bollocks, but it wouldn't surprise me if it's true.

I think the reason he has to go with the "I dont remember" angle is because he obviously DOES remember it clearly, but if he admits that he does remember he will be pushed to name names by the Press, "Kick It Out", Sol Campbell and a few others. So hes a bit stuck between a rock and a hard place when actually hes done nothing wrong. I have sympathy with him in this case

But if he does that he can say goodbye to the rest of football career in the media and anywhere else. No-one likes a grass right?

The FA have always had a certain say on who plays for England, the reason we have always had shit managers(Bobby excluded and maybe Tel) Managers who will say yes to everything asked,That's the reason we have always been shit(excluding 66)
