If he continues next season as he has done this season then I'd offer him another year. I think he's been excellent for us. I'd let Bards go as well. If Imb and Aff form the first choice CM partnership then we could see Whelan off when his contract ends as well. Doesn't make sense to offer him a new one from that perspective as he'll be 33+ once his expires. |

We will see the phasing out of most of the remaining Pulis men over the next couple of years - Crouch and Wilson, then Walters and Whelan. Wingy will surely be allowed to leave in the summer and Bardsley, Ireland and Adam may be on borrowed time if they continue to get limited first team minutes. I'd offer Johnson a one year extension this summer, to give him two more years - he has deserved it. Likewise Afellay. Arnie is the big contract extension we must secure this summer or else, unfortunately, get rid whilst he still has some value.

I'd give Whelan another year, he doesn't rely on pace etc so if he stays relatively injury free I think he'd still be useful, even if it turns out only to be a back up DM. |
