If Wilson and Bardsley have got their own threads today, then it's only fair that Eker should have one.The bloke will have nightmares tonight if the dizziness doesn't prevent him from making it to his bed. However his main problem will be which arsehole to use out of the half dozen he has been torn.

He hasn't been great these past few games. In fact, I thought Bardsley had a much better game than him today.

Genuinely don't rate this guy, he's okay but we're desperate for some new fullbacks in the summer IMO. Both sides.

No mate I think the funeral bus was the highlight of the day which says it all really, the woman in the next seat had some lovely sherbet lemons which she shared with us.Oh and Lol nearly got in a fight with a Frenchman which spiced things up a bit. Pieters mate was fuckin woeful.

On the funeral bus on the way back. Lol what about? N'zonzi wasn't that bad he had to come home on the supporters bus was he? Apparently he tried to but as he went to step forward onto the bus his leg kept going sideways so they left him there still going round in circles.

Hasn't been the same since returning from his injury and always struggles against pace. Still a solid left back though

Genuinely don't rate this guy, he's okay but we're desperate for some new fullbacks in the summer IMO. Both sides. I said the same on the Bardsley thread. Both are liabilities defensively and unfortunately Cameron isn't much better. Two new full backs are a must for the summer. Mike Pejic highlighted Pieters weakness in a Sunday newspaper article months ago and that is one guy who does know what the full back role is all about. I reckon if we want to rise beyond mediocrity, Mr Hughes and co. are in for a busy summer, with both ins and outs. Clean sheets are no longer a speciality at the Brit and it needs to change, because we sure as hell aren't that prolific in scoring more than we concede.

All in all I think Pieters is a very good option at left back, and I don't think an upgrade for that position is needed! That said, yesterday was probably his worst game for us, and in my opinion the fullbacks cost us the game! Hopefully he'll be back to his best for the next game, but the way he let Shelvey go past him was unbelievable, very poor defending!

I think we've got much bigger problems to address in the summer.
Pieters isn' great by any means, but even in the defensive positions you'd say he's the second name on the team sheet behind Shawcross.

Pieters is one of our best and most reliable players.
He was too easily beaten for their opening goal and a solid offering up to that point turned into a bit of a mare for him.
No reason to lambast him though. He wasn't alone in having a poor game and in the shitness stakes yesterday, he was nowhere near the top of the shitty pile.

Erik is the least of our worries. He has the odd poor game like yesterday but he's a 7/10 man generally. An injury free back four of a decent new right back, Shawcross, Muniesa, Pieters would be absolutley fine.
Like most of our defenders this season I think he's a victim of our constant chopping and changing....

He lunged and was subsequently beaten on three or four occasions yesterday including the lead up for the goal. That being said, I don't really think we need to replace him after a bad performance away to a good team. He's pretty solid, maybe could improve his crossing, but has enough quality to be starting for mid-table premier league club. The best left back we've had in the premier league.
