Toothless again, the goals have dried up. We're not direct enough at all. Other than Arnie, nobody was willing to run at their defence, compare Swansea to us who had us under the cosh for the whole of the second half.
Again a second half collapse, surrender the possession and the foul count is ridiculous- like back to the Pulis days of fouling.
Defensively woeful again. Not as much a gift as in recent games but both full backs are looking League 1 standard there. Last 10 games have been pretty shit and a complete let down. Bottom half beckons.

Should be ashamed of themselves today. Complete lethargic shite from front to back.

Whelan, Nzonzi and Adam were the root cause of the problems today. Unlike there central midfield ours barely made there way into their half and were more interested in playing with there back to goal all the time. We barely got the ball near diouf today and certainly had no support higher up the pitch.
Whether they were instructed to or otherwise it just didnt work and sparky should of seen this. I wouldnt feel a loss in the slightest if Adam or Whelan left in the summer. We need player who are willing to work and confident enough on the ball in the oppositions half.
I havent seen us play badly or not try that often this season, its a shame this one came in such an important game. We just looked completely toothless.
Not only that, what was worse is that we looked like we didnt try in such an important change. And sparky didnt see the issues in the middle of the pitch.

Adam away doesn't work, as dangerous as he can be at home he's a liability away due to his complete lack of mobility.
That's not why we lost but it's bleeding obvious....

The biggest problem is our build up play. It is way too slow. I lost count the number of times we had the ball in the attacking third of the pitch, only for us to then pass it back to our own box. It really was ridiculous at times!
Whereas when you look at Swansea, they are always playing quick one-twos on the edge of the box and they caused us a lot of problems.
I think Ireland starting ahead of Adam would have really helped. He is very intelligent with his passing and he would have brought the best out of Arnie and Diouf. Poor decision by Hughes.

Truth is, all the players you mention have some pace, something in short supply elsewhere.

Can't win sometimes though - Adam has made himself undroppable in the last few games and there would have been some serious teeth-gnashing on here if he'd been left out for this one.

Think it was a mistake not bringing the same 11 as against Sunderland (don´t know if Ireland was injured!!!). We lacked creativity in the midfield. Nzonzi and Whelan stopped many attacks and played the ball back to the defenders. It was a bad performance of our team yesterday, different to the Sunderland first half. But to be honest....Swansea is a better team.
We still have a little chance to reach place 8 cause Swanse plays against Arsenal and City next games.....but now he HAVE TO WIN our last 3 games.
If everybody is fit next weekend i would play that team:
Butland
Cameron Shawcross Muniesa Pieters
Nzonzi Adam
Odemwingie Ireland Arnautovic
Diouf or Walters
SJW is better at the forward position, think the last games have prooved that.

I think someone mentioned the 3 Ws and despite there great service over the years they all have huge limitations particularly with pace and technique (no one can question there heart). Swansea were far better than us in the second half yesterday and there were times we were passing for pas sings sake with no idea of what we were trying to create. If Odoms fit to start I'd play him for 60 mins next week then bring SJW on as he looks better off the bench. I'd go with
Jack
GCam Ryan Muni or Wolf Eric
NZonzi Adam
Odom Ireland Arni
Diouf

Diouf should have more confidence to stay on his feet and take on the responsibility of taking the man on, rather than going for the easier option of going to ground and getting a free kick. Arnie - I just wish he would do the simple things right, rather than going for the flashy stuff and having no end product. I totally agree with the lack of movement and forward momentum.

There's always somebody saying this every time we lose, if we win next win we'll be hailing what will look to be our best season in the prem. Swansea aren't an easy side to break down and our defence has been woeful all season. Last week it messed up and the week before we won after defence leaving a gap for a tap in at far post! U can pick mistakes in defences for every goal they concede! We won about 3 games on the trot not long ago but have got 1 win, 2 draws and 4 defeats. But before then we won 3 games in a row... so that makes it 4 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats! Which is 14 points in 10 games! Not looking so bad now, is it?

We remain an injury- weakened team at the end of a pretty tough season, in which we have actually done pretty damn well.
We have a great manager, some fantastic players (many of whom are currently crocked) and we've sort of petered out a bit at the end of the season.
Yesterday however we were beaten by a very strong team, at their ground, who were simply better than the team we were able to field.
Slagging off the players every time we lose really doesn't help. Even top teams lose sometimes, yesterday being a good example if you were a Manchester United fan.
We are supposed to be Stoke City "supporters". We should all try a little harder to "support" the team...even when we lose.
