We are behind the run rate in terms of points accrued from the corresponding fixture last season.
From the same set of fixtures (I've explained my logic with promoted/relegated teams before) we had 48 points last season v our current 47 and have the same goal difference with the same amount of goals both scored and conceded.
Can we beat last season?

Will we beat last season? I think we will finish above last seasons total. 53 is my prediction.

Swansea v Stoke (0 - 2) Stoke v Tottenham (1 - 0) Burnley v Stoke (1 - 1) Stoke v Liverpool (3 - 1) (Gerrard sent off for crying uncontrollably)
= Positive GD
Wildly optimistic?

We need 4 points don't we from 4 games?
I'm predicting 12 points. ;D
Seriously, think we'll get a point from both home games and win at Burnley. Think Swansea will beat us sadly.

Swansea - 0 points Spurs - 1 point Burnley - 3 points Liverpool - 1 point
So we'll beat the tally but still reckon 9th/10th depending on Everton. But if we draw or beat Swansea they we may still nick 8th as they have a horrible run in after us.

I don't think we're playing anywhere near as well as this time last year even if we beat 50 points.

I don't think we're playing anywhere near as well as this time last year even if we beat 50 points. There are glimpses. The whole season has been a little shit, a roller coaster, but we still have a good chance of 50 points. The question is is the Premiershit really shit?

The general direction we're going in is fantastic but this season has just been too weird and frustrating to be a truly memorable one. Oh and I've thought the Premiershit has been shit from day 1! A lot of hype, a lot of cheating but only one or two truly outstanding teams in all our time in it.

I too think its been too weird a season to be memorable, too poor at home for a start! For me I think we will get a draw against the swans, beat burnley as I think they could be down by then, hopefully a result against spuds and beat liverscum!

Everton just made things even more interesting. With our current run of form I think/hope we'll stagger across the finishing line with 51 points and 9th or 10th. That means we have to win one game - because it's almost certain we are going to lose one and three draws won't do it.

Everton are in fine form by the looks of things. Let's hope Villa and West Ham cause them a few problems and we do the business at Swansea next week for starters.
