He got turned probably no more than 3 times, after he came back out with a disfigured face, he was colossal. The reason we appeared so bad was due to the lack of width we played. Your lot constantly attacked down the flanks where our wide men in Buckley & Wickham didn't do enough defending in the first half, which left Jones & PVA exposed (these full backs often attacked and thus left space for you to exploit). Your goal was a prime example of what is wrong with a lot of our players' mentality however. We get the early goal and sit back so deep against you physical lot, it just asks for trouble - nice strike from Adam though. Not to mention we played Rodwell, so we started with 10 men anyways, we really missed Larsson's energy and desire to fight...Rodwell just stood still and didn't look for the ball once. Oh, the referee criticism...well a lot of our physical challenges were deemed to be fouls whilst a lot of yours were deemed to be fair, quite often similar challenges - he lacked consistency - so when we eventually got a free kick, it called for sarcastic cheers. If my centre half got turned 3 times I'd be calling him all the names under the sun! Jones and PVA were particularly dreadful, most amusing. They were fouls, there was one you should have got that you didn't where Arnie made a mint rugby tackle and that was about it (I actually shout abuse at the refs for favouring us because I find it amusing). And how O'Shea didn't walk I do not know. One of your centre halfs did, Wolshite or something?

I wouldn't condemn anyone to failure just yet... some teams just play out of their damn minds when relegation is on the line. Its not likely at all, but QPR could pull a Wigan and reel out 10 points in these last games for all we know.

Looking at the run-in, I think Sunderland are in trouble.Could come down to them beating Leicester or not. Southampton H Everton A Leicester H Arse A Chelsea A It's always a mug's game to predict, but I've just done of those prediction things and I've got them going down

I want QPR, Sunderland and Leicester to go down, but think Leicester will be fine. 4 wins in a row with Newcastle next so make that 5, then still Sunderland and QPR to play. Burnley have a good run in, West Ham with nothing to play for, Hull at home will be massive! But hopefully we'll smash them, then Villa on the last day who may be safe by then so they may be relaxed.

A North East treble of Hull, Newcastle and Sunderland would do me just fine.

A North East treble of Hull, Newcastle and Sunderland would do me just fine. I must admit I have been thinking that if Middlesboro come up and Sunderland, Hull and Newcastle survive then we would have no fewer than 4 trips to make up to the North East next season. For the record I have always thought the optimum number of trips to the North East in any given season is something between 0 and 1

I have always thought the optimum number of trips to the North East in any given season is something between 0 and 1 We don't travel well to the north east, be it Newcastle, Middlesbrough or Sunderland. For that reason, I hope Sunderland join Burnley and qpr in going down, with Watford (great away day), Bournemouth (another cracking away day) and Derby coming up to replace them.

For entirely selfish reasons, I want Hull and Leicester to survive. They are my two closest away games, closer than home games, in fact! I think Sunderland are looking very vulnerable; on any given Saturday we would normally have finished them off after we equalised. They were pretty shite, although it was clear that Advocaat was a wise old bird in the way that he changed his tactics and structure for the second half.
Sunderland, Burnley, QPR. And I reckon it might be us that extinguishes the flickering flame of hope for the Clarets on 16th May.

Newcastle will be fine as I doubt Sunderland will get 5 five points and QPR get 8! Lucky for them, had they sacked Pardew 2 weeks earlier they may well be in trouble right now.

Villa or Sunderland? Not so much which will it be. More a case of which would be funnier. Villa beating the Arse at Wembley then crashing and burning in the league would, to coin a phrase, give me a sense of enormous wellbeing. Ive got serious money on that very scenario lol. Although Sunderland to me looks more likely to drop due to lack of goals created by themselves.

Well done Hull don't mind Bruce and of the teams down the bottom I'd prefer them to survive more than most of the others. Would love Sunderland, QPR and Newcastle to drop but think it'll be Burnley, QPR and Sunderland now.
