Apologies if already posted, didn't look they did much walking to me. Couple fo the young whippersnappers were running their legs off. The slightly rotund gentleman hitting the deck was funny though :-)

I'm one of "the old scrotes" who played on the pitch at half time yesterday, just a quick thank you to the crowd who gave us fogies a great reception . We all had a great time and really appreciated your support.

Some great finishes.
But I did think that there was more running than would be allowed in walking football, but I guess it would be pretty difficult if all you could do was walk.

I used to play this. You wouldn't believe how hard it can be to play football and not run!
It's more about the Community side really. If any 50+ year olds were thinking of giving it a go, you should. I certainly would again if my knees could take it. Occasionally you get to meet Stoke players. When I was playing Glen Whelan paid us a visit along with the Sky News TV cameras. just as I left there was talk of a league being created, so if you do decide to give it a go, you COULD end up representing the Mighty Potters!

I joined local (Lytham) walking football 8 weeks ago. Great fun. Three studs-scar down my left thigh in 3rd week, and two weeks ago calf muscle went but I will be back! (I am 70 in June). Still not sure whether goalkeeping or forward is my best position. Probably goalie as I do keep falling over! It is a good laugh. Get to you local side and enjoy.

In fairness there was some cracking shooting, I looked up a couple of times and the ball was being rifled home

That's fine Billy , no offence taken. We were all dreading making idiots of ourselves beforehand , but the reception from the Stokies (and Southampton fans ) was great. Macca - it was indeed 2-1 , I was the goalie who let 2 in !
