What makes me laugh about this sort of thing is how many articles do you see written by stoke fans in such blousery fashion 'Why I don't like southampton by a stoke fan' I hate most of the clubs in this league bar a couple yet I don't devote my time to writing drivel about them.

I love that this guy hates us and feels the need to write his little articles. it truly shows him to be such a classy guy and the way he has altered facts all In a way to produce absolute tripe so his fellow southern softies will read his thoughts is utterly laughable.

Right... I come in peace. Genuinely. As I have been subjected to a lot of criticism and plenty of over the top abuse I feel I have the right to reply so here it is.
Firstly, I don't deny that as Alderweireld was carried from the field he was applauded by the majority of the crowd, in hindsight I should have clarified this in that blog post. Secondly I shouldn't have worded it so it sounded like all Stoke City fans were jeering him. Of course, as with all clubs it was no doubt a minority. For those two points I certainly regret the ill feeling it has caused.
In my defence though, a lot of Stoke fans have labelled me a 'liar' and that is unfair. While Alderweireld was on the ground and even while he was receiving treatment there were jeers and chants of 'cheat'. They were loud enough for me to hear in the away end, so I find it odd that so many are stating categorically that they didn't happen or that is wasn't a decent amount of people. Some Stoke fans have acknowledged that it happened, but very few.
Anyway I don't expect you to agree or change your minds, but I don't dodge criticism and will always say my piece and this was easier than replying to all the tweets/blog comments individually.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

Good luck for the rest of the season. Chris Rann There were cheat chants when the lad first went down. These were probably provoked by the ridiculous dive Mane (i think it was him) pulled off in the first half. A lot of players dive at Stoke Probably because refs see us a bunch of cloggers and generally reward the dive. Clattenburg was pretty good on Saturday ( we don't get many bias free refs ) however I still think Clyne would have been sent off if he'd been playing for Stoke. Fair play for coming on to clear up your article, but don't expect to slag off our club without getting alot of stick. We are passionate about our club and many are sick of the negative coverage we get from people hwo generally don't even watch us. Personally I love it; if everyone slagged us as much as Arsenal we could replicate the atmosphere of 2008-09 more often. Not going to wish you good luck cause we hate everyone apart from Stoke.

Fair enough. I knew full well I would get stick, and most of it is water off a duck's back, just not being called a liar. Clattenburg is a whole new subject, but let's just say he isn't our favourite ref at St. Mary's. Clyne's tackle was bad, but I felt some of our bookings were given for similar tackles by Stoke that were going unpunished, but that is a different row altogether.

Tripe even a fellow Southampton fan said your full of it and that you were not truthful. One disagreed with me from what I have seen. Every other one I have spoken too agrees with me. Well obviously you're right and we're wrong. It definitely has nothing to do with the fact you thought you could rock up at Stoke and get a win at all is it? You're guilty of believing you're own press, you've had a great season but it appears many at your club have delusions of grandeur now. We're used to this sort of shit from bigger and more successful clubs than yours but to get it from you takes the piss. You lost in a game your players dived and moaned at the ref all game. One of your players went down very innocuously and it appeared he was being just as twattish as the other 9 outfield players. Once it became evident he was injured he got the reception he deserved from a knowledgable and grounded fan base. Now shut the door on your way out please.

Whether you use the term liar outright or classify it as fabrication or sensationalism is really neither here nor there what your 'piece' was is agenda driven garbage seeking some sort of response (which you have clearly managed to achieve)
Read your piece again, read the Comment under the photo of Toby Alderweireld Being stretchered off and perhaps you will see why we think that your 'piece' deserves all the vitriol it had received from the vast majority of decent and right minded Stoke City supporters.
frankly your mealy mouthed words are worthless until the article is withdrawn - your 'apology' remains worthless until then
