They're wannabe hooligans with no bottle. Trying so hard to hold onto our bad reputation. The truth is that they are pathetic little prats who are about as intimidating as baby with a rattle. Fucking laughable.

Totally undefendable to have that song aired again by the few Stokies yesterday .
Shows just how offensive it is that those cheeky chappy West Ham fans should be so offended that I'm sure they'll retire with immediate effect the 'He talks like a m**** " song directed towards Harry Kane ....and the 'hissing' sound directed at Spurs fans .
NO , not an attempt at defending our morons , just stating that each club has a small minority of extremely undesirable fans .

Sooner or later some fans from other clubs will start taking the piss out of Nello..if it hasn't started already.
This point isn't just about the grossly offensive & totally uncalled for chanting yesterday..it's about the depths to which sone scumbags will sink.
And EVERY club has it's share of thoughtless toe rags.

I don't think anyone is denying that other clubs don't have a minority of pricks. All clubs do.I'm just embarrassed by the few Stoke pricks yesterday and what I've witnessed at quite a few away days recently.

Just to clarify, are you lot saying this is indefensible because it's about child abuse and paedophilia or because it's insulting Bobby Moore?
The impression I get it that some seem to think this is a really big deal because it is insulting to Bobby Moore, when surely it would be just as wrong if it was about any other human being?

It's insulting to Bobby Moore because it was chanted on the ground where he is adored and is a considered a legend. The same numpties were also chanting "Enguurland" later on, after abusing the only English captain to lift the World Cup! It was embarrassing and shamed our club. Can you imagine the reaction on here if opposing fans chanted something as disgusting about Sir Stan?

So it is less to do with it being about paedophilia, and more to do with it insulting Bobby Moore? Don't get me wrong, I think both are classless, but it appears we have our priorities slightly mixed up. Either way, the solution is pretty obvious. If everyone on here reckons these kind of people are just a minority, and I suspect they probably are, then the rest of us need to stand up every now and tell these idiots to pipe down.

I shook my head in disbelief yesterday when i heard this but it really comes as no surprise when you follow our great club nowadays.Something will soon kick off amongst our support if nothing is done about the pond life that is ruining our reputation on our travels.Like Davef says the scumbags then start singing swing low and England songs, you couldn't make it up.

In this instance Phil, yes I think it is.
We're talking about Bobby Moore here. He's one of the most iconic English footballers of all time (and, as someone has already pointed out, presented a Stoke City captain with a trophy at Wembley) and we've got pond life abusing him on the ground where he made his name.
There are some things that transcend football rivalry.

I slightly disagree, Dave. Anyone's fair game in my eyes as long as it's original and funny. Of course this was just appalling offensive bollocks but the Bogota Bracelet thing would have been a great source of fun if it was today.
No one in the fortunate position of an adored professional footballer is above the occasional kick to the ribs are they?

Wonder if these West Ham fans taking offence were the same ones changing "She's got chlamydia" to a lady in our section. Nice.
(I am not saying this justifies what was sung by our own fans, just the hypocrisy of taking the moral high ground, when, as mentioned earlier in this thread (Harry Kane / Jewish references etc...), they clearly have their equal share of idiots)

We have had obscene chanting and singing at football grounds for years, once you let this genie out of the bottle it is virtually unstoppable. People who think all fans will know where to draw the line between what is acceptable or not are kidding themselves, it can only get worse in my opinion.
I've read there was a time when home and away fans stood on the same terraces with no trouble, how did we get to where we are today?

I will reiterate that the song is classless and embarrasses the good name of our club and each and everyone of the true football supporters that follow it.
It is embarrassing to abuse Bobby Moore at all given his standing at their club and it is totally unnecessary.
To bring Jimmy Saville into it, whether about Bobby Moore, Trevor Brooking or even their retarded bespectacled idiot who was every bit is stupid as some of our own supporters, is just wrong and has no place at a football game.
However, I would like to highlight a little experience of my own day, as a way of crediting West Ham because at times, football supporting is alive and well.
I took my little lad for his first proper lads day out. Early train out of Stoke, day in London, game and late train home. We were sat right next to West Ham fans against the mesh segregation and when Arnie scored his late disallowed goal we were up, celebrating an equaliser. When it was disallowed my boy was devastated and was fighting back the tears. Out of the corner of my eye I caught a West Ham fan point out my lad to his girlfriend/wife and make a "ahh" gesture.
Obviously, seconds later we had the delight of a equalising goal and we went mental. Our first proper "dad and lad" mental. Once the euphoria had died down, I caught the eye of the same West Ham fan, who whilst clearly gutted by his teams concession of an equaliser found it within himself to flash a smile and a thumbs up to my boy.
Walking back to the Central pub en route to East Ham station, loads of them spoke to us, ruffled his hair, commented on his Bojan strip etc etc.
That is what football is about. Banter inside the ground, creating as intimidating an atmosphere as possible for the opposition team during the game, but then being able to appreciate fellow football supporters, who you have a common bond with by virtue of the fact that we're all proper supporters who invest time, money and energy supporting our teams.
West Ham are a cracking club with, in the main, super supporters as are we. These idiots are a disgrace who have no place at football regardless of who they support.
Such chants have no place at West Ham and no place at football in general and a section of our supporters are complete and utter morons (and that is being kind to them).

Leaving aside this particular issue, from reports I have read football violence is on the increase again in various parts of the World and shifting from trouble at the grounds to other areas where fans gather. Police are also reporting the hooligans are better organised with sophisticated methods of communication.
With economic problems rising especially in Europe and the rise of far right political parties football becomes a target for groups of people wanting to stir up trouble and so whereas there may be many dedicated and well meaning people attending games the warning signs are signalling all is not well.

At the risk of stirring up a hornets next then overall I do think we need to consider getting the club involved and asking them to ban the sale of alcohol inside the ground at away games.
Whilst this had nothing to do with this specific moronic chant the behaviour in the concourse of half time is becoming a joke - Chucking beer around and then missing the first 15 minutes of the second half to get more pissed is becoming the norm.
I am convinced that some 'lads' are pretty cluseless when it comes to the club, our team and our history - Its just an excuse to have a day out and get shitfaced
