Leek / Stoke supporters - given the success of the season ticket promotion last weekend v Coalville we intend to run the same promotion again v Romulus 3 pm ko tomorrow.
Exactly the same as last week - produce a valid season ticket for any football club and you can gain entry to Harrison Park for £4. For kids it is £1 again on production of a valid junior season ticket.
The Dyers Arms have tickets behind the bar should you wish to call in. They also have a loyalty card system in circulation for Leek Town supporters and a chance earn some free beer at their pub. Cash will also be accepted at the turnstiles on production of a valid season ticket.
Existing Leek Town season ticket holders are again entitled to a free pint at the blues bar on production of their Leek Town season ticket.
I appreciate the feedback received from regular supporters who feel they are being left out. I have listened to these people and agree we need to put something in place to reward them. The plan is to introduce a loyalty card system next season so we can monitor regular attendance and look to offer something back to thank these people.
It is a bit too late in the season now to put this in place but rest assured this will be looked at in the close season. Leek Town currently have an unprecedented amount of games which the club appreciates is quite costly to the supporter. We are also in with a great chance of promotion therefore trying to get more people through the turnstiles at this time has to be a priority. This is a one off period for Leek Town - we must put our own personal views to one side and continue to support the football club. The club absolutely values those regular supporters.
Stoke City play Chelsea away tomorrow which is a 530 pm ko live on sky sports . I'd like to think those floating Stoke City supporters will again take advantage of the offer - after all 52 extra people did last Saturday. You could also pop back to the Dyers afterwards to watch Stoke should you wish to do so. Sounds like the perfect day to me.
Please spread the word and support Leek Town. The club appreciates and thanks everyone of you for the continued fantastic support.

Was another cracking afternoon last Saturday. My kids love going there when Stoke aren't playing.
Great club, but I was a bit baffled and sad as to why the good folk of Leek don't turn out in greater numbers to support a club that's a credit to the town!

The low levels of support in the town for Leek Town is really baffling.Fair enough Stoke,Port Vale and Macc Town are on the doorstep of Harrison Park but Leek struggle to get 300 most home games.Even during the time they were in the Conference for 2 seasons they very rarely managed 1000 and that was with bigger away support.Infact the only time i really recall the town getting behind the club was during the FA Trophy run in 1990.Seems a shame as it's a decent club and whenever i've been the football has been good and as a town for drinking pre-match Leek is excellent. Does The Dyers still run a coach to Man Utd home games? Know a few who used to go on the coach but lost touch with them.

Are you coming down to Castle on Monday Bunny to watch the six fingered ones take a lesson off RVDL's carpet football side?

Inbreds mate, not interbreds. Perhaps you need less fingers? x Its short for internal family breeding Yes it has been Mickleovers to lose for some time and given Leeks rather ponderous displays of late they may struggle to hold on to 2nd spot. Another season where their budget advantage counts for nothing scenario may be on the cards.

Another season where their budget advantage counts for nothing scenario may be on the cards. I've seen all of the teams in that division this season. There are 3 or 4 teams who have looked stronger than Leek imho. Mickleover have also invested heavily too, I don't know where they get their dosh from. I think Stafford will be the team to beat next season.

Leek looked out on their feet last Saturday, and their pitch doesn't help. What was the game yesterday like?

The game yesterday was fairly even possession wise first half but Castle really should have had the game sown up with the clear opportunities they created. Second half Leek had far more of the ball but created next to nothing as per first half. Indeed Castle looked more likely as they have significant pace in the side and were always a threat on the break.
I believe if Jordon Cole, Castle's top scorer had been fit enough to play the score would have been more emphatic.
I don't buy this Leek are knackered theory. They have a bigger squad than most. A bigger problem for this season and last is the manager never knows his best side. The decision to put Donnerley at right back when Castle have two of the fastest players in the league operating down their left exposed them over and over again for example.
Mickleover are interesting. They hit significant financial trouble the last time they went up to the Premier but seem to have stabalised after a couple of difficult seasons. They get decent gates for that level but there must be some other external cash going in there.
Stafford will inevitably climb again sooner rather than later. I understand they have their financial situation back under control and given they have gate receipts four and five times higher than anyone else in the league they will be expected to win it next season. They really ought to be a decent Conference North club at least.

The game on Monday was their third in five days! How many played against Vales under 16s that played the following two game league schedule that everyone else also faced in the same period?

I really enjoy watching Castle if I can't make Stoke. But how do they budget to stay near the top with paltry crowds, and outperform Stafford Rangers who can attract several hundred?

I really enjoy watching Castle if I can't make Stoke. But how do they budget to stay near the top with paltry crowds, and outperform Stafford Rangers who can attract several hundred? I was really impressed with Newcastle this season. I think if they don't make it this season though they will struggle to compete with Stafford next season. You never know with that league. A club can suddenly find some financial backing and work their way up quite quickly. It doesn't always work out though. About a year ago, Goole AFC in that same division were taken over by a billionaire tycoon named Baron Bloom, a well dodgy character. They bought up loads of players. They bought Sheffield fc's 4 best players for example. They improved but didn't quite hit the heights they were expecting. About 3 months the novelty wears off and he suddenly announces he's selling the club for £1. Within the 3 days the management had left and 11 of their first team squad found other clubs. They have managed to stabilise themselves somewhat in recent weeks, but its not exactly living the dream.
