'I got a bad feeling on this one, all right? I mean, I got a bad feeling. I don't think I'm gonna make it out of here. You understand what I'm saying to you?'
- Sgt. O'Neill, 'Platoon'. But if I remember rightly, O'Neill did make it, by hiding behind a dead VC soldier. Surely that's a good omen? One thing about Stoke is, that sometimes the more you expect a defeat, they actually surprise you (like at Man City and Spurs) and vice versa (like Leicester, Burnley, Villa and Palace). I am essentially pessimistic about this one, too, but the Stokie in me keeps a flickering flame of hope and bloody-mindedness. Sold. I'll take it as a good sign.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Difficult match, but a good performance will set the tone for the remainder of the season. Hopefully arnie on the left will be a revelation. Chelsea will want to play their game and Arnie has the ability to be in unpredictable. If he follows his international form up, we could see anymore exciting game.
With a health(ier) team than we have seen in awhile I don't see a blow out, and if Hughes can create some magic it will be a good watch.
I predict a win, based purely on the amount of fear on this forum.

Just sending out totes respect to the Stokies going to the game today ...exorbitantly priced match tickets, engineering hell on the railways ... £5 pub pints ...A ' well bang goes my Saturday night out" kick off time ....Its on the box down your local boozer .. ..the recent suspicion that we're already 'on the beach' Plus a bare bones team against the gazillionaires of Chelski , yet STILL your going ???? .....I salute you , one and all

Hope we don't give an early goal away through sloppy defending, we can be good at that.We need to start at a good pace imo

Don't see why we can't get a point today. Chelsea will no doubt be under pressure to win the league comfortably and if we keep it quiet for the first 30 mins, their fans will get on the players' backs. 1-0 Stoke. Diouf goal on the counter.

I got into a right tiff on here a few weeks ago with some jokers telling me 'our seasons over' after losing to Blackburn the way we did. True, last two results have been very disappointing (referees definitely featured in affecting the results though) and, some might say this is a 'bonus game' a la Tony Pulis.
Well, even though I'm not going, I've been thinking, dreaming, wanting, aching for Stoke City to do something today. Primarily to sicken off that manipulative Portugese manager they have and, his particularly nauseating set of big heads and mercenaries.
A shock result - a good performance , even a point, to give us all a lift - shock the media and, kick start our season into gear, all over again.
Really is the stuff of dreams if you happen to care about our team - our club
it probably wont happen if we are truthful BUT
in short
its games like today that make me laugh in the face of those jokers who actually said, our season was over
I for one remain hopeful we can do something today AND CANT WAIT !
and surely thats how any half decent fan would feel
Those thinking 'our seasons over' no doubt will be occupying themselves with different activities at teatime even ?
(self sexual gratification perhaps ?)

Anyone know if you can pay on the day and go in the home areas?
Having watched us 4 times at Stamford Bridge since we came up and not yet seen us score a goal I was going to give this one a miss but I now feel I should perhaps stand up and be counted and generally take the medicine! Must be the call of the wild!

We cannot concede an early goal today Suppose they get an early goal and go down a gear thinking the jobs done ! There follows an hour of boring football and then we equalise in the 75th minute and they are so shocked they panic and we edge the last 10 minutes and get a winner.

Chelsea fans are quite jittery at the moment after some indifferent performances.
Let's be honest we need them to have a poor start to the game and a quiet/restless crowd.
Go on Stoke - play with pride and passion, that's all we can reasonably ask for...

Our last 5 visits to Stamford Bridge has produced an aggregate score of 15-0 to Chelsea I think. I fancy us for a 1-1 today :-)

With Adam and Ireland on, both of whom have a tendency to 'get stuck in', I can see us playing with 10 men at some stage.
