What's our record of results after having a break ? It's not very good is it ? I'll go for 5-0 that way I won't be disappointed

Why is it being televised? It's a home banker, surely? Unless Sky truly believe we can upset the odds, where on earth is the tension in this game for any neutral? Maybe if we had all our best players available but, without Moses we are critically short of pace and I have a horrible feeling we will get seriously dicked for all the world to see.

I'd go with: Begovic Cameron Shawcross wilson pieters Whelan nzonzi Walters Ireland arnie Diouf I think hughes will pick the same team except crouch up top instead of Diouf. Agree, this is the team I would pick too! I would certainly not play Crouch in this game, maybe Bards or Cameron is the only difficult choice for me here. Let's hope for a Man City away repeat!

Having said that, just looked at Mays fixtures and they aren't on that much! It was definately stated though. Edit I read it again, on every weekend!! More beer time

Only getting beaten by 3 goals to 0 won't be too bad, a draw will be better than brilliant and a victory would be

Bardsley is more consistent, but has a far worse first touch. I figured start cameron so Bardsley avoids picking up another yellow.

For me GK - Bego RB - Wilson CB - Ryan CB - Muni or Phil LB - Eric DM - NZonzi DM - Whelan RW - Walters AM - Ireland LW - Arni STR - Mame I wouldn't risk Charlie or Bards as the way Chelsea throw themselves around they'd be lucky to last half an hour. I agree re Charlie, but I can't believe you would favour Wilson for RB ahead of Bardsley or Cameron.

Looking forward to this. Going with a few mates from Landan and one of my Mayes is bringing his French gf to the game. I really don't think she knows what she's let herself in for.

Chelsea are full of gifted players - but, as we know even gifted players can have off-days. If the right City turn up - both physically and mentally - then I believe we could snatch a 1 - 1 draw here.

I'm a nervous wreck. I'm typically pessimistic by nature, but this one really scares the shit out of me. I fear this scoreline could be catastrophic. I pray that I'm wrong and we can somehow pull out a result, but I'll be damned if I can figure out how we'll do it.

Our away performances away at the top 6 have been generally good apart from arsenal ,

'I got a bad feeling on this one, all right? I mean, I got a bad feeling. I don't think I'm gonna make it out of here. You understand what I'm saying to you?'

Bego Phil 'Hayemaker' Bardsley - Ryan - Wilson - Pieters Zonz - Adam Diouf - Ireland - Moses Walters That would be my team with Crouch & Arnie getting some game time from the bench 2-0 Chelsea unfortunately. This could be any score for the home side and at 10/1 I think it's short considering we were 33/1 or something mental before our Etihad win Would you have N'Zonzi as the DM?

For me it would be....
Bego
Bards (is he injured?), Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters N'Zonzi, Whelan Walters, Ireland, Moses Diouf (only for his pace)
Either way, I think we'll get spanked.

I know this sounds chiche, but if we concede early doors, we could be on the wrong end of 4 or 5. If we can repeat the Man City performance though, we have got a chance as they are not infallible (look at the champions league), despite what the pundits say. To that end, I would go with the following:
Bego
GCam Ryan Muni Eric
Zonz Whelan
SJW Ireland Arnie
Diouf
I have gone for GCam over Bardsley as GCam is better defensively, Ireland over Adam as Ireland is more mobile and a better link player, especially on the break, and Dioufy over Crouch as Dioufys pace can force them to drop a bit deeper, thus leaving more room for the 3 in behind to play. Also, I have gone for Muni as he is better man-marker than Wolly in my opinion. The rest of the team picks itself to be honest.

- Sgt. O'Neill, 'Platoon'. But if I remember rightly, O'Neill did make it, by hiding behind a dead VC soldier. Surely that's a good omen? One thing about Stoke is, that sometimes the more you expect a defeat, they actually surprise you (like at Man City and Spurs) and vice versa (like Leicester, Burnley, Villa and Palace). I am essentially pessimistic about this one, too, but the Stokie in me keeps a flickering flame of hope and bloody-mindedness.
