To be fair, I have only heard Cundy say good things about Stoke; he was praising us throughout a prolonged discussion of us during the summer, I recall. Like it or not, the TP legacy will linger on for a few more years yet, because we are a convenient journalistic shorthand for committed but unsophisticated football.

Macari era Stoke were tagged as long ball and physical. Pulisball may not have gained us a particularly positive image in the football world but we were hardly Barcelona before him.
