I remember their keeper running over to the ambulance corner to get the medics on sharpish. They didn't look particularly keen to get involved

The lad who broke his leg was a young David Artell, who later played for Crewe.

Not sure if I want here anymore to be honest. I'd love a player of his class to come here, like Yarmo, but it's well documented that he rejected us, he doesn't want to be here and would only come as a last resort to a last resort!

Shaqiri is playing games with Inter having seemingly been in a row behind the scenes with the manager and coaching staff which resulted in them trying to sell him this summer. This seems to be why any proposed move has broken down, he doesn't want to do things Inter's way.
They couldn't be any clearer that they don't want him. Surely as the window draws to a close he may revisit the option to join us?
Wonder if it would be his agent that would have to contact us or vice versa?

Why would we want a player rejected us not once, but twice. Great player but seems too big time Charlie for little old Stoke

Late loan deal on last day of the window if Yarmolenko doesn't come off is my bet....

However Inter need the fee. Surprised there isn't any apparent solid interest from other Premiership clubs.

I don't think he wants to really come here but is keeping his options open. You get the feeling that he thinks Stoke City is beneath him. That's just my opinion of course.

BBC sports site reporting Shaqiri about to join Everton on a season long loan. I thought it was a sale Inter were after and loan wasn't an option. Disappointing if true.

Really appreciate the support but I've been mauled by dead sheep and it's more of s threat than this little lot . Just read the original quote
We are not going to outspend Man Utd actually at the moment we are being outspent by FC United

That would be disappointing but Everton are historically the better club. If there's a loan to be had no doubt we'll be in the running.

I'd rather sign Carrillo or Yarmo then Shaqiri. My disappointment will all depends on what we do with the rest of the window!

If he did sign for Everton big if on Loan I'd love to see the defence of our approach to the whole Shaq transfer on here and even better the guardian article explaining it straight from the horses mouth as I think to most reasoned observers it would game set and match to Mr Biscut. As it would pose the question what the fock have been trying to do all Sumer and how have we been trying to do it .
