I went West Brom yesterday, and their stadium is quite nice , but maxed out, apart from knocking that side down where the players walk out, and re-building
Our stadium could be quite good, and I think we could develop our fanbase
I can't understand why we can't develop the stadium a little bit, surely there must be a business case for it, even if it takes a few years.
This is not a dig at Peter Coates, he has surely overseen the price freeze on season tickets , and the free travel for fans on away travel is amazing, absolutely amazing
Please Peter, can we have a bigger stadium?

The other thread shows our average attendance has never really been above 30,000 for our entire history. Why expand?

Looking at that you have to wonder why Man City are building a 3rd tier behind the goal when they don't sell out now, speculate to accumulate?

The other thread shows our average attendance has never really been above 30,000 for our entire history. Why expand? Quite correct. We know it is on the club's agenda, but there are other priorities that need addressing first and there is no sense in spending money to have empty seats for 90% of the matches. In the last good times in early 70s there were only well over 30,000 when the Manchester sides came to town and the Boothen End became the Stretford End for the ManU games. That can't happen now with restrictions on visiting fans seating. The club will monitor season ticket sales and when the demand is there they will fill in one corner.

How much more than 98% do you need though? The club is stalling.

I think the club should remove the current corner, seems a lot easier to remove 1 corner than add more.

Whenever the away club takes the smaller allocation we don't seem to have too much trouble filling the extra seats.

This needs to be done ASAP for me, the clubs stock has hardly ever been higher. We are the top side in the midlands and we should be looking to capitalise on this. Get a corner filled in to add the extra 1800 seats or whatever it is.
For any games that we are maybe struggling to fill the extra seats, we should be sending out tickets to schools and schemes, not just in Stoke but in Stafford, Nantwich, Uttoxeter etc.
Now is the time to capitalise on just how well we are performing and go out and attract the next generation of fans.

I've just driven past Derby's Ipro stadium & seen what potential there is if we upgraded the Brit with the corners etc, Derby have generated cash in by liaising out areas around the ground to companies like Greggs & Starbucks.

The bit I noticed that could work - right hand side far corner opposite us lot - the corner was filled in but it only had circa 30 or 40 rows of seats - the rest was just a large metal wall linking the two stands - still looked ok and gave it the 'finished' feel Would work re Family end connecting to South stand?

Never understood why we dont have the area around the ground fenced off so it can be used at half time/pre match for market stalls etc. Give the extra space we clearly need that isnt on the concourse.
To add to that, am I right in thinking the club havent even sent any renewal forms or reminders or anything in the post to season ticket holders? Just relying on some billboards and the official site hoping people renew by the date? Dear oh dear

I am all for expanding the capacity and am baffled by the 'we need 1,500 more season tickets to justify. Sadly accountants making this decision. At least the club should make some investment in improving the stadium facilities diddly squat has been spent on the stadium since we moved in.
