Lets have a rousing rendition of "We're not boring anymore" tomorrow, just to let TP know how the majority of us feel about the lack of credit he is affording to Mark Hughes since his departure. If anyone was in any doubt of TP's true feelings about the club, there can be none after yesterday's press conference. If anybody thinks he would be anything but delighted if we got relegated under any other manager than he, then they are deluded.
Spiteful, classless and wholly unnecessary when Hughes has been absolutely decent about TP every step of the way.

Why? Fair game if you ask me based on his lack of acknowledgment of the job done by his successor

I (for some reason) watched TP's press conference last night and it's still pretty obvious he loves the club, city and "the Coates family".. HOWEVER! one other thing was also obvious, he seems to think the reason we're doing so well now is solely down to him and the "foundations he laid in place".. whilst there is no doubt that has helped us, he seems to have ignored the progression in the way we're playing and the added dusting of "magic" (Moses, Bojan, Arnie) that HUGHES has inserted into the team.

I think we should sing it whatever. Not exactly for the reasons of the OP, but it's true.

There are about three different threads on this, but he just bugs up the family and doesn't say anything about Hughes. Apparently both managers are now obliged to say lovely things about each other before the game no matter what. I think they're just disappointed that the 'dripping poison' hasn't started yet.

Couldn't care less what Tone, Arsenal fans or anyone else thinks. I dislike reacting to it as it does show us up as small time. Like Journos who keep going on about Ramseygate.
Fuck them all I say. Let's just play our game and get the 3 points. That's the best response we can give.

Not so sure his love for the club came over , he just looked sneeped to me and still hurt by his sacking . Whilst bigging up his ongoing contribution to stokes good form .

And decidedly petty, which perfectly sums up the sentiment behind posts such as these. It's about time everything our EX manager(s) say or write is no longer minutely dissected and interpreted in order to revile or revere them. It has nothing to do with our team and the game we play and everything to do with over inflated/bruised egos. :-SWe are in the process of being on an exciting journey which many people have contributed to and which should be acknowledged. As they say the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I've just watched it again and it seems a bit of a non issue to me. Managers have large egos, it comes with the job. They're always going to push their own credentials. I think people are just hearing what they want to hear, like they've been waiting to be outraged by something. Plus he never actually says a single bad word about the club - in fact, he has a lot of nice things to say.

It's a shit idea. Totally classless.
Why?
The best way to respond to someone being ungracious is......being Gracious!
We should follow the example of our current manager imho.
I hope Stoke fans are able to show some class.

Bet they're so glad they dumped TP onto us 10 years ago now they're battling for League 2 play off place and we've been in The Premier League for the last 7 years.

'Pathetic' doesnt quite do justice to how feeble this all is but if some want, rather unsuprisingly, to put their name to it then fine do the club and yourselves a dis-service. History is, as normal, being re-written. There was no-one worse than Mark Hughes for this sort of pre and post match nonsense, he has been the first to admit it. Stoke in particular found ourselves in his firing line. It mattered not a jot then and it matters not a jot now. Predictable mischief making that it seems will never go away - only for those who practise it to claim that others keep bringing up the subject of TP!!!

Sparky was/is a master at this sort of stuff. Bet you if Pulis had left Stoke with the fury and anger of all the fans ringing in his ears then Hughes would be giving it both barrels.

I, too remember Plymouth singing this, when they were winning. Trouble is they didn't win and look what's happened to them since. I don't think we're in danger of that but perhaps Tone deserves some respect after what he did for us. The cup semi final was one of the best days of my life.

Plymouth sang it, we beat them, took the piss and remember it to this day. Do we really want to set ourselves up for that? As mentioned... maybe if we're 3 up

Argyle falling down the leagues has absolutely NOTHING to do with Pulis leaving them and coming to us. Holloway took over and finished higher in the championship table than Pulis did. Their fall down the leagues was down to total and utter mismanagement by the board causing them to go into administration and almost out of existence. BM

Pulis said he loved the club loved the players loved the fans and loved working for 'the family' and from this you heard that he's bitter and wants us relegated.
Frankly I think Coates does deserve and should get more recognition I also think the same applies to Pulis too. How a very small and frankly very dim minority of our fans can think otherwise is frightening,
Yes we should big up Mark Hughes and yes the odd 'hoooooofff' when they play long would be funny but to copy a Plymouth song from the early 2000s when they were hurtling downwards as we were being catapulted up seems a bit retarded to me

What about a quick rendition of Wilson Palacios, Wilson Palacios or we had Ryan, Ryan Shotton on the wing on the wing ( a natural winger i think is words were ) he is an opposition manager give him the shit all opposition managers get and lets big up the excellent FOOTBALLING manager we have now.
