Defended like a Trojan last night, even though he had to swap partners again, never stopped barking orders keeping the defence tight and inline, even had a bit of a row with Whelan, had £28m Lukaku in his pocket most of the night, won tackle after tackle and almost every header. I have to admit to being a big critic of Wilson but credit where it's due I thought he was by far our stand out player last night. Gouranga.

Class player, certainly doesn't deserve the flak he's had on this forum.

He is in tremendous form at the moment, I actually thought he was our man of the match against Hull to be honest. Keep it up Marc!

Wilson was my MoM last night, shading Whelan. The way he took control of the defence last night was top drawer. He has grown into that role with Ryan's absence. Confident, decisive and an excellent display.

Completely agree however all of the "old guard" are realising they are having to step up their game with strong competition all over the squad.

Again i have been a massive critic of Wilson ,hes never a midfielder in a million years and only a second string fullback for me.
Now then i have watched him carefully at centre half over the last two seasons.
Without doubt he can play this position and has definitely added aggression to his game.
His main fault was his concentration and basically he always had a mistake in him, maybe the peenny has dropped with him but hes looking very good.

At 27, he still has time to grow as a player as well. I felt he had brick walled when he was playing centre back last year. Like, watching him make mistake after mistake, I really felt he wasn't going to get any better. This time round, we're seeing a different Marc Wilson. He's winning aerial battles, physical battles and is looking fitter. I have to say one of my favourite moments of that Everton game was in the first half when Lukaku was played through. Wilson came flying over full belt and threw in a great challenge and Lukaku proper bottled it. One man wanted it more than the other, and that man was our man. That's a good place to be!!

Credit where credit is due. He had a great game against Everton and so did Cameron to be fare!

I think the best compliment we can pay Wilson is that we haven't missed Shawcross this last two games.

I've always been a big fan of Wilson and defend him and praise his good performances on Twitter all the time. He is top class, he has to be, anyone good enough to take the mighty Robert Huth's place and keep it is some player.

Maybe the extra responsibility suits him and adds to his concentration.

Maybe the extra responsibility suits him and adds to his concentration. I think this what has happened,he's seeing himself (with Ryan out) as the senior Centre Back & this has helped him focus. I still have concerns (as I do with all our Centre Back options bar Ryan) that he can be deficient in the air. And how about (& this goes for all our defenders) a goal or two at the other end?

That's how I see it Lord. He would be a very decent centre back if he could cut down the number of critical mistakes he makes. He's probably been unlucky in so much that a number of his lapses have lead to goals.

Shown what he can do at centre half - I doubted him, and for that I am sorry Wilson!
