In respect of Fa Cup runners up getting a Europa spot - isn't that only if the winners qualify for CL.
For example Man Utd vs Reading Fa Cup final, Man Utd win and finish 5th in the league, Europa would drop to 7th place.

I can't see us overturning Spurs or Southampton with our injury list, what we have achieved this last few games is pretty astonishing given how weak we looked in the two previous games.
The manager has done superbly with no money and with the tools at his disposal. I still can't believe we managed to keep a clean sheet against Everton with Geoff Cameron on the pitch!

You got prior engagements you cant cancel? Be sure to tell the club what dates suit you. What a fucking weapon you are. I've already said why. It's a death sentence. We haven't got the squad depth to handle another competition right now. Imagine if we were in Europa this season, we would be probably in Everton's position. We're putting kids on the bench because we just haven't got the squad depth to handle an injury crisis. Throw in an extra competition and more games and we'll probably have to sign me up to play centre half!! Use your head mate. The year after next, Hughes will have almost certainly cleared out the deadwood and players he doesn't rate, and will have signed players he sees as Stoke going forward. At which point, we may have the squad depth to handle another competition I loved the Europa last time mate, but our league form showed why you must be careful taking another competition. Everton will not go down and will have had a good go at the Europa league even if they lose in the next round. In all honesty, I'd take a season like that (we've seen a whole lot worse) for another Europa League adventure.

Personally, I just can't see it, were depending on too many results but within 3 years I can see us in Europe, be it through league finish or the cup.

It is certainly possible. It'd be very difficult, but then, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

Aren't Burnley on course for a spot in Europe via the Fair Play ruling?

Spurs are certainly catchable as soon as they realise they won't get CL and finish above Arsenal they wilt, the question is are we good enough to maintain our current form.

My brain says probably not. My heart says anything is possible. This season does seem to have a bit of a magical feeling to it. If we weren't assaulted from the backside by the injury bug, I think it would be a no brainer. Which makes me dare to dream what next season may hold in store.

I believe Everton are doing so badly in the league is because of Europe, don't want the same to happen to us, if we are in it next season.
That's my only concern about it, I would love Europe again don't get me wrong!

Who are we to turn our nose up at another European adventure? Isn't that what football is all about? New things and pushing yourself to finish as high as you can and go as far as you can in any competition? It's going be a hard task but it's possible.

Not a popular answer here, ( and its unlikely for us anyway), but the Europa League is a fucking disaster. The toll always shows on teams the game immediately after a Europa League match....

If we achieve what we are clearly aiming for, namely cup success, finishing in the top half of the table, improvment year-on-year, then Europa qualification is an inevitable consequence. So I believe it is going to happen in the next couple of seasons, probably not this season.
Yes it is a ball-ache given the schedule and we suffered last time, Everton are doing worse than we did. But it is what happens if you succeed domestically. It is the next challenge and, the more you do it, the more used to doing it you get ...and someone has to win it as well, that becomes part of the dream.
I think Coates and Hughes would welcome it and so would I.

Wasn't in a position to afford an away adventure last time. So I'd love the opportunity now. Testing ourself against the best of the rest in Europe? Nice barometer about how far we've come. I remember watching us play Swindon away in about 99 my first away game. How things have changed.

Ofcourse it's possible and very feasible. 3 crucial matches prove this Stoke v Southampton Stoke v Spurs Southampton v Spurs
If Stoke win both their matches and the other is a draw add the points to current standings
Southampton 50pts Spurs 48 Stoke 48
Game on

I find it difficult to believe that there are Stoke fans who would rather we DIDN'T get into Europe.
What's the point in even playing?

League position for Europa please someone correct me if this scenario is incorrect. Chelsea win Champs league 5th Qualify for CL 6th therefore auto Europa Chelsea won League cup and will qualify for CL So 7th Place gets that Europa spot Cup final is between 2 teams who qualify for Champs league That europa spot goes to 8th place Is that right or am I missing something here?

I think the day Palacios goes will be an important day. Mark will really be able to make this squad his own with no lasting legacy from Tony. 100% agree... regardless of all the good he did for us, he has left us with some serious deadwood we've badly needed shifting for a long time now. There's Pulis deadwood still around but at least, if not more, successes; Bego, Shawcross, N'Zonzi, Walters, Crouch for example. I'd argue that Hughes is arguably getting more out of these players, but Pulis brought them in. In terms of transfers he did OK - some duds. Some successes. Par for the course I'd say.
