Martinez is, and always has been, a complete bluffer.
Couldn't see a defender if one sat on his face.

Seems a decent, honest and open fella to me. I always enjoy his punditry. He is always polite in interviews. No tantrums or storming off. Strange how some people on this forum have to hate others, in order to boost themselves up. Martinez is one of the good guys for goodness sake and Everton will come good.

What have tantrums, storming off and whether he's a nice bloke got to do with discussions about his managerial ability. I've no doubt he treats his mum well but he's massively overhyped and with little or no justifcation.

Also it's a bit hard for them to 'come good' with only 10 games left. He will be sacked in the summer.

His charming rhetorical post match comments are starting to sound very hollow these days

Strange how some people on this forum have to hate others, in order to boost themselves up. Martinez is one of the good guys for goodness sake and Everton will come good. He does mate but there's been an on-going debate about his managerial credentials for a very long time. Many of us wonder how a manager (who had Wigan, a solid Premier League team before he went there, a whisker away from relegation for two years before finally managing to 'achieve' said relegation) manages to get a 'top' job with Everton. It's fairly unprecedented and baffles the hell out of many of us. His abilities appear to center on the fact that his teams play some 'good stuff' once in a while, which has become even more of a mystery to most Everton fans. He is, IMHO, quite simply the most over rated manager in football and I've been saying it for a very long time. You talk about Everton 'coming good' when they were a very good team when he went there (a team we aspired to). Since then he's spent big and they've got considerably worse. As you say, he's a nice guy, very smart and talks a great game. I have nothing personal against him but I DO question why he is held in such high regard when there is so little evidence to back that up. From what I can see, he's tended to take over good teams and make them worse.

Everton fans would prefer Duncan Ferguson in charge, that says it all I think.

Everton need to get rid pronto. I'd be very happy if he stayed a while

I can't see the OP so unsure what the photo is, last night I thought he was doing semaphore on the touchline, at one point his hands and arms were going round and round so fast I thought he was trying to take off.

Phwooor, I wouldn't kick him out of bed.
However, I'm relieved we chose Hughes over Martinez (and the other names rumoured in 2013)

Roberto Martinez is very quietly, and very efficiently, helping Stoke edge their way up the English football pecking order.
There's no way we could have overtaken Everton in the food chain quite so quickly if this smooth talking slickmeister hadn't somehow turned David Moyes' solid point-churning machine into the directionless shambles we saw last night. Equally Wigan were a more stable Premier League club than us before Martinez came along.
Best case scenario, for us, is that Martinez wins the Europa League so that he gets showered with yet more misplaced praise, and ends up getting poached by Southampton in the summer.
And he's undeniably a nice guy too, so get off his case everyone.

Lukaku looked a pale shadow of the confident talent we have seen from him in recent seasons. Whilst I agree with others about Martinez honest approach he clearly lacks the ability to motivate a team that we all agree should be several places higher up the league. I imagine he has until the summer then it's adios amigo!

Has always seemed like a good egg. I've never had anything against him, or Everton for that matter. Even there fans have always seemed like decent peeps. But lately it seems Martinez has had a certain look about him. Look in his eyes. He kind of has a 'lights are on, but nobody's home' thing going on.

This man is simply incompetent.
He has always been incompetent and there is no sign of him improving. That Everton squad should be top 8 with his eyes closed. They were a disorganised shambles last night.
For some reason he always reminds me of the politician Nick Clegg (don't know why?)
