How predictable....
Everton last night were very poor. Although we played excellently at the back, when they got near our box they had no idea and usually went backwards. They won't go down as there are other worse teams but they need a major rethink. With Stones and Garbutt they have something to build on.
He looks as though he's put all his eggs into the Europa League basket. If they win that (massive if) and stay up then it could be a successful season for them and he would be somewhat justified. Lukaku has been a disaster in the PL for them at £27million.
Everton fans last night were massively frustrated and gave him and the team a lot of clogg at the end.

His suit looked nice in the post match presser
Martinez is a classic example of style over substance.
If you are bringing the (so called) best foreign coaches LVG, Jose, pelligrino etc then fair enough. There are plenty of young British managers not getting the chance due to the likes of Martinez staying in jobs.
A fraud at this level

Pugs so this is a tough one for you. You either hammer Martinez by saying Everton were poor, or you say Stoke defended well praising Geoff who I know you're not a big fan of. Tough choice... how do you save face in this situation buddy?

He has a fancy accent too and talks a cracking game. I reckon he could sell sand to an arab. As a football manager? I'd say he's practically bordering on dreadful, especially with the kind of quality Everton have in that team.

Lol, I know!!!!! I say it as I see it. I think Martinez is a good manager and generally he has done well at Everton but it can't be argued that his team aren't playing well in the league.
As for Cameron, I thought last night he stepped up and had an excellent game but would you be happy to see him back in the team permanently at CH or RB? I wouldn't and more importantly I don't think the manager would either.

We would happily take 4 or 5 of their players off them, perhaps even more. I cannot understand how a manager can take a team with that kind of quality and have them playing such poor football. For fuck sake I could win football matches with that team and I'm not even a football manager. Very very poor appointment in hindsight. Found out for good this time though.

it seems to me he inherits decent teams but as soon as he adds his own stamp to it he struggles. Maybe Everton should do what West Ham did when they brought in a forward coach and bring someone in to organise the defence

As seemingly one of the more open Cameron fans on this board, I would happily have him at right back although Bards was superb so I wouldn't drop him as such... what I mean is, I wouldn't have all the panic attacks you seem to have when he plays. I was a bit nervous when he came on at centre half, but after a little mix up at the start with Lukaku, he had a terrific game. Brilliant performance and for me, should start at centre back next game if Wolly isn't available. He proved a lot of doubters wrong in my opinion.

Panic attacks based on not reading the game, not taking up correct positions, sloppy on the ball, giving the ball away etc etc. Last night he was superb but I have my doubts he could maintain that level. I don't think the manager rates him either.
Last night, IMHO proved jack.

It proved he CAN play centre back. He played centre back and kept a very good striker in bay and got a clean sheet in the process.

I like Martinez, a good positive manager. Not a big moaner either.
He managed Wigan to an F.A. cup win. Which is more than ANY manager has ever achieved with us.

Maybe Everton should do what West Ham did when they brought in a forward coach and bring someone in to organise the defence Its not just that he doesn't know what to do with a defence, he just wont adapt to certain situations, you know how they are going to play and pretty much how they'll set up, makes it really easy for opposition managers.

He isn't pragmatic enough to manage a big club like Everton. He won't change his 'principles' and he's been found out.

I would have been happier enough if we had got him before Hughes, but not now though. Hughes has turned a half decent side into a very good side, Martinez has done the opposite with Everton.

Martinez is a fraud.
Yeah, won the cup but he managed to take Wigan down after years of stability under Bruce and Jewell and has turned Everton into a team with precious little identity and struggling at the wrong end of the table.
He's all nice suit and fancy words with very little substance.

He's all nice suit and fancy words with very little substance. He has absolutely no excuse like he had with Wigan though. This isn't a poor team made up of cheap players. Everton are an excellent team made up of players who would walk into most Premiership teams. He's taken good players and made them poor. He has absolutely no Plan B... well, Plan B is revert to Plan A and it was clearly not working last night.
