Perhaps Naismith should have been booked earlier but i'd rather a referee be a bit too cautious with bookings than card happy - still can't believe Moses' booking against Hull!!
Overall decent performance, if he cut out the dramatics we wouldn't need to talk about the referee at all, which would be so refreshing.

My only real complaint was that I thought Naismith deserved to be yellow carded a lot earlier than he was. He actually deserved two or three yellows last night. An early yellow would have forced him to calm down or get sent off. Him and Barry, Forny. You got the feeling that he had decided he didn't really want to book anyone on the night. Overall he let the game flow but he was very lenient towards Everton's players in the first half.

the everton player that pushed bardsley at least twice didn't even get a talking to, never mind a yellow. Naismith should've been on a yellow early on. Glad he didn't bottle carding the dirtiest player in the league (Barry) meaning he gets a two game ban now the dirty bastard.

He seems more relaxed since he started listening to Ed Sheeran.

Inconsistency again. He books Bego for time wasting, and you think, why didn't the Hull goalkeeper get booked for his persistent time wasting?

Took far too long before booking Niasmith. Did OK though, but even a broken clock is correct twice a say.

This How many times do we see opposition players get one, two, three..FOUR! warnings yet as soon as a Stoke player steps out of line the card can't come out quick enough? Footballers are like children (or pets), if you constantly warn them (threaten them with action) yet do nothing they will just persist as they see you as being weak...gotta train 'em early!

I thought Clattenberg was significantly better than anything that i have seen this season. Some of the officiating is dreadful and Clattenberg, barring the fact that Naismith got away with being a nauseating shite for too long, got virtually everything spot on.
He is without question the best referee in the league. The fact that everyone else is so far off his benchmark is the cause for greatest concern.
