Little complaint from me tonight. Not perfect, but wearing my red and white specs again. Thought he called it mostly right and was trying to let the game flow.

A lot of what he did was for the crowd. I wish referees would stop the over exaggerated hand gestures when they are three foot away from the players.

He was OK for me tonight, with the exception he was way too pally with the Everton players in the tunnel before the game.

A lot of what he did was for the crowd. I wish referees would stop the over exaggerated hand gestures when they are three foot away from the players. Surely that's good reffing? The amount of times I sit there and say what's he give that for etc wasn't needed tonight, even from the stands every foul was clearly explained. Best ref in the country

He's the best we've got by a mile imo but i do wish he stop the stupid gestures all the time because he's turning into the new Mike Dean.

Deserves credit. Didn't do much wrong at all and you could see him explaining each decision to the players.

I thought in the first half he did himself over giving a free kick for a nothing challenge and blew for everything after that, seemed a little better in the second.

really why? He got most decisions right and really let the game flow! Probably the best ref to date this season down here!

Overall OK. Dealt with the Bardsley incident sensibly and let some robust 50/50 stuff go on which I think we want and makes the game so much better

He (and his linesman) missed two balls go so far out, they were nearly in the Seddon (ffs). It's not hard be be alright when his colleagues are all fucking shite. This season will forever be known as the one with calamitous referee decisions.

OK for me but two points, one, should we have had a penalty when Diouf was felled in the box and two, why does he put the magic spray alongside the ball and not in front of it? Does it everytime.

I think where he puts the magic spray is at the request of the player, as i dont think they like it infront of the ball
Thought he was alright, although found the bego yellow a bit baffling. Although I would also have been disappointed that he didnt give a foul for our second goal for the diouf jump in on jagielka, had it been the other way round and against us

FFS-we ask for a referee to let a few 50/50's go,play advantage and let the game flow.
When we get one we still moan.
If he's going to referee a game like that, then some decisions will go against us-it's a man's game!

No - this is "look at me look at my teenager haircut" Clatenburg......he should have dealt with that thug Naismith early doors - far too chatty with the players, a number of odd decisions......wonder how many comments would have said he had a good game had we lost or drawn ....I am not a fan....

Should have booked the Everton player early on, and yet again, another ref playing for the away team. When are we going to get one totally on our side? I won't hold my breath!

He did OK I thought apart from allowing the naysayer several fouls before a booking, and then being a bit harsh to book bego.

OK for me but two points, one, should we have had a penalty when Diouf was felled in the box and two, why does he put the magic spray alongside the ball and not in front of it? Does it everytime. Probably to discourage kick taker from moving the ball back a yard or two to gain distance advantage from the wall in front of him. It's been mentioned a few times on MOTD how a player drags the ball back as the ref paces out 10 yards and marks the ground for the wall. Whilst I don't think moving the ball back breaks any rules it does prevent the wall moving forward to maintain the ten yard distance once the ref has marked the ground infront it. Good reffing IMO.

My only real complaint was that I thought Naismith deserved to be yellow carded a lot earlier than he was. He actually deserved two or three yellows last night. An early yellow would have forced him to calm down or get sent off.
