Phill is running the London Marathon on 26th April this year.
Before tomorrow nights match his family and friends will be collecting for his chosen charity Alzheimer's UK. He has chosen Alzheimer's due to old pros possibly being diagnosed from heading the old heavy balls.
Phill was born and raised in Longton and still attends most of our games, but now as a fan.
He's a very active member of Stoke City Old Boys Association (SCOBA), who raise money for many local charities.
Can everyone look out for the collectors prior to tomorrow nights match and give as much (or as little) as possible. Every penny counts.
Phill was one of our players through the mid 80's. Quite funny how he was compared to Ousama Assiadi last season.

Quite funny how he was compared to Ousama Assiadi last season. I played with Phil as a junior for many years for Stoke schoolboys...it seemed like from the under 6's onwards. We grew up at opposite ends of the city so we were never 'friends' per se but he was good fun to be around. A really likeable person & I am sure he has not changed since. His old man was a good bloke as well. Last time I heard Phil was living in Oxford and had a couple of successful businesses on the go. Hopefully, this is still the case and he is living comfortably. I won't be there tomorrow night but will happily donate if someone can post a web link.

Never knew Phil but I knew his wife Rachael from squash and her coach Eddie Adams who it seems from Phil's blog sadly has Alzheimer's.
Good luck to Phil in this endeavor.
