9. Loses a mark for not starting Crouch. Crouch has, apparently, been having regular injections of some sort to help him with a recurring injury so Hughes may have felt he had no option but to use him as a sub rather than to start him.

It's a 10 from me.
Picked the right starting XI but a mixture of them defending deep, Ireland's injury and a few below par showings meant he had to change it.
Hughes made the correct subs and his reinforcements combined to win us the game.
He must have been very pleased with his work.

8.5* is Crouch becoming a super sub?
is coming on at the right time as defenders tire and then have to re adjust to a new tactic a good strategy ?
