For the past 24 hours there has been many arguments over what colour this dress is. For some people it is White and Gold but for others it is Blue and Black. For me it is White and Gold. What is it for you? |

It's all down to the brightness/contrast settings on the screen you're viewing it on.

If I look at it with my eyes horizontal (ie the normal way) it is gold and white.
However if I tilt my head to one side so my eyes are vertical it is blue and black. It is something to do with the way the rods and cones in our eyes work.

When I clicked on this thread when it was first posted I thought "What the fuck, the dress is quite clearly white & gold, how can anyone possibley see anything different" I then looked at ukcstokie's post below it which showed a white & gold dress on the left, and a blue & black dress on the right. Having come back to this thread a couple of hours later, sat at the exact same computer, I'm now seeing them all as blue & black!..... And neither person has edited their post to change the picture...... I have had a few ciders inbetween viewings if that makes any difference  |

You're quite right,I thought it was just people viewing it on different screens saw different colours but having seen it on the news tonight people were saying different colours on the same tablet. clearly some people conna see rait |

It is actually blue and black, and I'm not just saying that because it's the only colours I can see when I've looked at it. It's been doing the rounds on the internet and it has been confirmed that it is definitely blue and black, and seeing white and gold is an illusion. |

Its to do with your eyes adjusting to the brightness.
there are factors that can effect what color it is like fatigue ect.
