With the subject of racism in football being in the news again has anyone ever heard any racist remarks, comments or abuse at the Britannia? I can honestly say that in all the time I've been going, its something I've never witnessed, we can give abuse for absolutely anything and everything else but racial taunts to black players seems to be a no go area.

There seems to be an ever increasing number of honkeys at the Brit.

Still hear the odd comment/chant but nothing like it used to be. The 'town full of p***s' chant occasionally rears its ugly head but the vast majority refuse to join in, thankfully.
I remember seeing bananas being thrown on the pitch at Garth Crooks at Brighton's old Goldstone ground...

Never at the Brit, but we did have a total whopper sat in front of us at Wembley for the final. I had to remind him how many players we had that weren't white british blokes.
You get them everywhere, unfortunately.

Sadly yes. Occasionally the odd chant in the South stand although thankfully never usually more than a couple of idiots. Also at Blackburn last week we were unfortunately stood next to three blokes chanting racist abuse throughout the match. Until it all kicked off down the front, then they barged past me, my mate and a family with two children to try and get involved.

Didn't Jason Euell have something shouted at him when he played against us for Blackpool? I've heard some pretty shocking things shouted at away games by Stoke fans, one in particular at Bolton away a couple of seasons ago.

I particularly don't get racist chanting, it's clearly not going to take off and you're highlighting yourself moreso than shouting comments.

I'm a firm believer of speaking up when I hear racist or homophobic abuse at Stoke (or at away games). It can be intimidating but I've only had to do it a few times and it's worked. If you feel too intimidated to speak up, tell a steward or a copper. There's 100% no place for it and as we've seen this week, it only takes a small number of dickheads to give a whole club a bad name.

theres a bellend on the end of my row in the south stand who turns up on his own every week and has on average one racist outburst a week. Last one being at Man City when he confused Diouf with Moses and then came out with "Inna my fault they both look like monkeys". Worst thing about it is he thinks its hilarious. No one dares say anything it seems but the disgust is there.

I think there is a huge difference between banter and racism. Slating someone in jest for being what ever they are, if you know them, is fine in my book. I have some good banter with the Indian and Pakistan lads at work slagging each other off on the stereotypes that we both have with each other.Just as I do with fat people, thin people, whatever kind of people. It gets you through the working day and when they know your not a cunt it's good harmless fun. Racism is when you treat someone in person, face to face with less regard than you would do to someone of your own race. I don't think that happens much in real life. Not with the majority anyway. When in a crowd it can be different and it can seem more intense but I doubt most people see this as the way they are, and I personally don't join because I don't know them but I wouldn't look too much into it.
