So back to onto the subject, they've probably heard about our generous benefits system from reading the mail online, 'Afghan gamily in £2m mansion' 'family with 8 kids gets merc and a minibus and a huge house' They all must think or get told about it by the gang masters and smugglers Exactly. It's no wonder The Daily Mail is banned in so many countries.

My eldest lad (not a sports fan, the one you didn't meet) mate's home from Mokpo in S.Korea for a couple of weeks, he's teacher out there, he was telling us the other night that most of the BBC is banned there as they mention N.Korea

We watch the French News Channel in English (it's on Sky). Give it a try, quite an eye opener.

What shit? What fan? You live in fear. Now we've got Putin's bombers in Cornwall!!! Yeah right.... Is Thailand still run by an unelected military junta? Yup. The democratic handover will take another 12 months. They recently kicked Shinawatra's daughter into touch for corruption too. Brave move. Democracy in Thailand is only 70 years old...give it a chance.

I always think that people who migrate do so for a better life because for one reason or another they've cocked it up. If everything is hunky dory at home then generally people don't look at moving abroad. As an expat myself id say theres a large amount of truth in that. It's pretty important nowadays to spend time working abroad but those long term expats i meet almost always have skeletons in their closets. You can be a big fish in a small pond in many ways when you live in certain countries. You do meet some chancers, but no more than you find at home ~ and they don't last very long. I was head-hunted and initially didn't want to go. But the tax free $$$ was too good to turn down. After 6 years my contract finished and I realised I didn't want to return to the UK to live and work. It's not that I don't like the UK, I just think we get taxed far too heavily and pay far too much for things. It was a sensible and practical decision for me not to return.

It's been going on down there for years. I used to do my Visa run down there when I lived on Samui. Heavy military presence but I used to go with an ex German Para mate of mine called Herbert, so we always got our books stamped. Well done for not using expletives as well!

Had a quick google after seen that attack didn't realise since the 70s. Throwing bombs at the Royals had Liz better start looking over her shoulder.

That was where 9 of the 9/11 bombers lived before they travelled to the States.

I moved to LA recently for a 2 year contract, but sometimes they offer permanent jobs afterwards. California is amazing but I reckon I'll want to go back after two years. We whinge, but there's lots of great stuff about the UK and I love my country.
Where I was living before, half of Tesco and Costa were staffed with Spanish or Italian students or graduates because they couldn't find jobs at home. Lots of young, clever and hot people coming over for a bit seems alright to me.
