Yeah, disappointing time to play Villa away, with all the uncertainty surrounding our back four I fully expect them to do the double over us.

We're a wounded animal. We'll play out of our skin and win 3-1.

I don't know about that, we're more roadkill at the side of the road at the moment. Sparky's provide people wrong time and time again though, I'm sure he can pull them off their arses and get them moving.

It is going to be a RESURGENT Villa I'm fairly certain.
We could do with avoiding another real belting here and try and get some confidence back after shipping 7 goals in the last 2 hours of football.

The amount of hype Sherwood is getting surely the result is a foregone conclusion.
4-1 to them AGAIN no doubt.

unlike some i'm not going overboard after a decent second half v the bottom team in the league, i'd take a draw right now i'm sure you dont need reminding how we were gonna beat you last season at VP and you took us apart

I have no doubt Tim Sherwood will turn out to be a disastrous appointment but he hasn't been there long enough for his daft methods to really take effect, so the dead cat bounce from Lambert's dismissal should win the day for Villa.
It will be like the time Alan Ball won his first game as Stoke manager.
I am all the more certain after hearing Sherwood's interview yesterday, where he was going on about "throwing some punches" and "going down fighting". That approach has a shelf-life of about two weeks, so it's unfortunate timing on our part.

People go on about Arsenal and Man Utd's injury crisis yet our misfortune has gone largely unnoticed.

After the match, Sherwood will speak about his 100 percent win rate as Villa manager, comparing it favourably with the win rates of Herbert Chapman, Alex Ferguson and Bob Paisley. "If you look at the stats, I've won 100 percent of my games since taking over this football club."

Villa will be a whole new animal now, typically, in time for the Stoke game. If we let them control the game we could get soundly beaten. We really need bodies back in the side. Huge game for our centre midfield. It's up to our centre midfield to control the game for us. Nzonzi v fabian stealth. Usually stealth goes under the radar and is anonymous.

Are villa now a free scoring all action side now? I'm sure they are the lowest scoring side in the league but I may be wrong.

Given Bowen's interview I reckon we'll do well to get a draw. Injuries have been disastrous. There is always something that transpires against us.

Vila and their fans may be EXPECTING to win this game and I'm sure Sherwood will be firing them up for a home win.
Confidence for both teams is a little short on that at the moment (Villa have more reason to be so) and this will be very important.
If we can get that first goal and then not switch off / relax (no doubt MH will have pointed this out on Monday ) no reason why we cannot get something from the game.

I reckon a first goal will burst their balloon. They will still be fragile so will easily revert to form. We will have to make sure we don't give away a silly goal which allows them back in.

Given Bowen's interview I reckon we'll do well to get a draw. Injuries have been disastrous. There is always something that transpires against us. Bang on this. We really do have the shittiest of luck at times. Surely the idea of luck playing its part for our injuries has gotta be regarded as unfounded now? We're picking up different injures every week and to near enough every player now. Hard luck would be losing two or three key players Long term, well we've done that and had on-going minor injuries all season, there's gotta be an issue to be addressed here. By their own standards, and let's be honest, they've not been great for about five years, Aston Villa are particularly poor this season, yet we're gonna have them do the double over us. No disrespect to the Villa, as another midland club goes, I have absolutely zero bad feeling towards them but I'm disappointed before a ball's even been kicked for Saturday. It's a match I was looking forward to writing a few wrongs we made on the opening day of the season actually. Sadly I just think the Sunday headlines practically write themselves for this one.

With this new confidence villa have with the arrival of Sherwood it'll make for a more open attacking game, which could play into our hands with pace we'll have up front counter attacking . I'd rather see them have an attacking mind set rather than the drab 10 men behind the ball like at our place .
