When a steward throws a punch can anyone expect 4700 Stoke fans to do nothing. No but the OP was saying that hurting fellow Stokies by some misguided loyalty in rushing over to join is is not the right thing to do and I agree. You can help without resorting to fighting.

Ah I see that makes it OK to join in I would appeal to the impartial readers of this forum - is that what I said? In no way did I say you did

The steward behind the goal was looking for trouble, he ended up getting sent away before he incited further trouble.
But still doesn't condone what went on today. Won't surprise me if the FA make an example of us.
Hope the woman is ok & isn't put off going to football games.
Also saw a few girls at the front trying to run from the trouble. We really should be ashamed of ourselves.

Well said, but unfortunately there are always some with little thought to the wider consequences who will get involved just because they want to.

With all due respect mate I wasn't there but if I saw a steward punch a anyone I would get involved. And I think it would be justified In what way ? filming to get evidence of wrong doing or rushing over to join in a fight ? I would try to prevent anyone getting injured whatever that took mate.

So pleased the lady is OK, we feared the worst. The claim that that's what caused the trouble is disgraceful, we were three seats away from her and it was the initial malaise that caused her funny turn. Punches thrown by stewards in several separate incidents that folowed, so so needless, had they contained instead of being heavy handed today would have passed with non off this What caused that initial malaise?

I saw somebody going out on a stretcher just before the end, was it the lady?
One guy behind me threatning to fill in another stokie who was moaning, the bogs full of neanderthals who cant last 2 hours with a cancer stick, the flare thrown into our own fans from the back, fook we have some right supporters

Over reaction. Happens at other clubs too and always will. The last 2 matches? I preferred it with the cards never any trouble. We have to many yobs who attend matches just looking for trouble. I don't care about other clubs Stoke are my team that makes it different.

Well our club should be able to identify the said"fans' and ban them.
When the ticket allocation for this game was being discussed a very sensible post on the Oatcake, suggested that our own stewards and police should be placed with our supporters to help prevent and deal with any problems.
I do hope that the lady who collapsed makes a full recovery physically and this has not deterred her (and others) from attending further games!

I have never gone to a match looking for trouble but if stewards get over zealous over a bit of banter and one throws a punch at me, a member of my family or friends then I'm sorry but I'm knocking the fucker out. I haven't been today and I'm glad of it from the sound of the game but what do the do gooders on here expect if some cunt is needlessly throwing punches

Exactly what happened, steward punched a stokie first. Hope he got his head kicked in, and who the fuck was that steward with the cap on, giving it some .
Disgraceful behaviour from so called members of staff of the ground

people on the floor needing serious medical attention and the police just filming it forget slating our own, this was an inept display of policing and stewarding Its called gathering evidence so that those responsible can be dealt with later rather than have a huge fight at the match. I think we need to look at our fans not take the easy option and blame the Police.

Right or wrong that is what triggered it off.

The extra allocation would have been all upstairs. It wouldn't have been a problem What was the cause of that small fracas? I was sat very close and have no idea as to why???

That's very different to banter, which is part of the experience Everyone should be returning home, injury free even if the result has gone against them.

They are likr bouncers and at the end of the day they enjoy a fight as do some police. Im not saying the fighting is justified but some of these security firm stewards think they are part of the law at the football grounds
