BT paid £960m for 42 games per season - four more than its present deal. bbc sport I pay £344 for 19, I think they are getting ripped off. Brilliant !!!

25 years ago I used to bemoan the poor TV coverage and loved what Sky did initially - tail wagging the dog now and a fact of Premier league life.......although as one of the less glamorous clubs we will not be covered as much as others I guess......

I wouldnt stress too much
The terms of the deal are:
Sky Sports 28 matches at 12:30 on Saturday, 28 from 13.30-14.15 on Sunday, 28 on Monday (no less than 18) or Friday (no more than 10), 8 on Bank Holidays, 6 on Sunday
BT Sport 36 matches on Saturday, including 28 at 17:30, 6 midweek evening matches
So no more than 10 Friday fixtures, they might not be a success (although personally I think Friday nights are a good night - better than a Monday with work/school next day!)
I dont mind a Saturday teatime either - few beers and then a game under lights!
Not too much changes there apart from the Friday option?
140 fixtures shown on TV out of a possible 380 games (10 fixtures per week x 38 game weeks) - so 36% on tv
Its a shame they fanny around with the Europa League on a Thursday (and force games on a Sunday after) as thats a lot of the inconvenience too for another portion of fixtures

Brings it home to you that increasingly the people at the game are not the end customer, instead we are a key component of the stage set.

If they'd scrapped the shit Monday night fixtures, I'd have taken the Friday ones, but they haven't. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, totally wank. Monday night fixtures are the fucking worst, if we get one not only do we have a barren football-free weekend where we have to resort to supporting whoever's playing the Shit, but on top of that match goers get a bloody awful deal. Can't make a day of it to justify the ticket cost and can't even celebrate a win properly afterwards cos work in the morning. (Doubly bad for those of us who hate our jobs, just knowing I have work the next day is enough to cast a pall over anything...)

A lot of moaning over what may be 1 Friday and 1 Monday night home game per season.
In exchange for all the money the club gets which can be put towards ensuring future security.
