Pretty sure he came out of the Peterborough academy, at the same time as a midfielder who went to Tottenham whose last name escapes me...Simon something I think. Simon Davies is the fella your thinking of You are right it was him. Just googled Jelleyman, he remained in lower leagues. Was ace on CM back in the day.

If Bojan ever gets close to Matty Etherington he'll be doing very well. There were a group of players that came thru that fabled West Ham Academy. And Matty was the pick of the bunch. Hit the first goal in the 5-0 at Wembley too. One of the greatest players not to heve held down an England shirt and perhaps would make it onto the bench in an ALL-TIME Stoke City XI. And how! Thanks, Matty!

Fair to say his stay at SCFC was a game of two halves. He was brilliant pre-injury, very much a squad player afterwards. But his attitude was always great and he deserves full respect from us lot.

Great first couple of seasons and his downfall (from injuries) and poor form from Pennant were the major reasons for our 'drab' last season and a half under Pulis where we got no service whatsoever into Crouch. The importance of Ethers (and Pennant) to Stoke at that time was massive and was hugely understated at the time by those who thought Crouch was the root of all evils. Ethers was a massive contributor to Stoke's fortunes and he'll get the great reception he deserves tonight I'm sure.
