Scored 13 for Norwich. Jones has scored 11 for Cardiff. Kinda proves the big step-up to the PL.

Scored 13 for Norwich. Jones has scored 11 for Cardiff. Kinda proves the big step-up to the PL. scored 10+ goals on the PL for a dire Brum side, that was in one season. Has the touch of a blackpool donkey, but has many other attributes at his disposal - you never know, if Norwich come up he could perhaps take that form forwards into the PL.

Jerome was under-used by us, he was a good impact sub and made a difference, saving my weekend on a number of occasions. If he ever turns up for the opposition - it's a round of applause from me.
Jones on the other hand, was simply a non trier most of the time. If he ever turns up its dogs abuse from me.

Jerome is not a premiership player Was worth signing just for the wonder goal however

Jerome got how many goals for Palace? seen much worse than him & if he was still he wouldn't bother me but he simply isn't a prem class goal scorer

Jerome is one of the few let go under Hughes that I wish we'd kept.
Is his touch significantly worse than Diouf? He was an excellent impact player and scored instinctive goals. He struggled when he had to think.

I dont think hes premiership level myself.Try buying a centre forward from the championship mind who scores goals, starts at 10 million.
We gave him away in my view.

Cameron and Kenwyn are playing at their level (or maybe good enough for bottom half Prem sides), they are not at our level.
It is clearly very tough to score consistently in the Prem. We have searched for years to find that 15+ goals a season striker and not found him yet. But Stoke are not alone, a look at Newcastle's list of players shows they have spent significantly to find a good goal scorer including names that Stoke were reputedly after and have failed.
I believe PC when he says money will be made available for the right signing; we just haven't found the guy who is at a sensible price (transfer and wages) and wants to come to Stoke. There is no point in splashing out on someone no better than Crouch or Walters, or is top class but who wants ridiculous wages that would simply "cheese off" the rest of the squad.
The scouting team need to find someone playing at a lower level who has the potential to improve further and do it at the top level. who no one else has spotted/wants.

Interesting when you watch our Mame Diouf. The quality of keepers is a big difference because his goal tally as been kept lower by some great saves.

Always liked Jerome for all his faults. Kenwyne can lick my crusty shitter though, bell end.

Always liked him
His pace in last 20 mins of a game worth a few points a season...

Whilst accepting Jerome has a poor first touch, is it worse than Diouf's?

If we did unearth a 15+ goals a season striker, who had a deft touch, could hold up the ball, had electric pace, and bring others into the game he wouldn't be with us beyond the first transfer window. Spurs can just about hold on to Harry Kane, and that is by virtue of the fact he's Spurs through and through, but even a club the size of Everton can't hold on to their best players. There's always going to be a flaw in every Stoke player's game - that's why they're at Stoke. I honestly believe that, if we do get a good season out of Bojan, he won't be at Stoke the season after.
