Stoke 9 Ipswich 1 Viollet (3), Dobing, McIlroy (2), Bebbington, Ritchie (2). Our first season back in the top flight and watched by only 16,166 people - the lowest attendance of the season. Were you there?

I was there and if the old grey matter is remembering the day correctly....all 5 forwards scored...with Keith Bebbington getting his close to the end. Also Ipswich had been beaten the previous week by a similar score

I was there, the best goal of the 10 was the one scored by Ipswich If my memory serves me right by Broadfoot a winger who was about 5 foot tall.

I saw the result, but wasn't there. Wish I had been though, but then again, it was before I actually started going.

My uncle missed one game that season. That one! he went to Aintree to watch The National (racing or rather gambling being a passion of his) & to be fair he had the winner so good day all round.

I was there with my head just poking above the wall at the front of the Stoke End, at the height of the players' boots.

It was the first result I ever remember, I was 7. I wonder why the crowd was so poor. We'd hit over 40000 for an earlier home game against Spurs.

Back when crowds used to fluctuate Stoke often got biggest win of the season in front of their lowest crowds. 10.3 v Albion and 5.0 v Arsenal. 6.2 v Leeds too.

I was there. I can remember that it was one of our first trips to The Boothen End, having served our apprenticeship on the Stoke End. I can remember the ploughed field of a pitch, and Dennis Viollet scoring some goals. I'm sure I've got the programme somewhere among my collection.

I was there and unless my memory is playing tricks with me it was Grand National Day.
In those days our kick-off time for home games was 3:15 - the same time as the Grand National started.
The referee blew to start the game just as the 'National started and by the time the race was over Stoke were 3-0 up!
Incidentally, just a couple of seasons before, Ipswich won the 1st Division title - under Alf Ramsey.
This is all from memory and could be my imagination, but I think it's true.

I was there on the Boothen End. I think the low gate was partly because Ipswich were at/near the bottom of the league and it was an unpleasant cold damp day. I remember my dad was dischuffed that he missed the goalfest as he didn't dare to go because of his bad chest and the weather. An amazing rare scoreline with all 5 forwards scoring!

Half way up the Boothen End ( under cover) in the middle. Year before when we played Real Madrid in the Centenery match there was 44,914 and because we were packed in was as warm as toast edit: looked up the crowd, lower than I thought

I was there as well.
Sadly, having first started going when I was only 2 or 3 (several years before) I have absolutely no recollection of any games I attended in the first 4 or 5 years. How you forget seeing the team score 9 I have no idea but I have.
I even had a season ticket in the Boothen Stand in the first season after it was redeveloped and can't remember that either (I guess it must be reverse senility!)

Less than two years before this game Ipswich had been crowned Champions under Alf Ramsey. Probably one of the most meteoric falls by champions ever because they were relegated few weeks after this game. They'd reached rock bottom of the league on 1st October 1963 and stayed bottom until they were relegated.

I was there but can't remember too much about the game. Not because I was too young, but because I'm now too old. (I'm amazed how many youngsters amongst the 'old timers' there are on here. I was 23 when that game was played. ) OS.
