We are only a few points of safety, but a lot of points off a European place. He is cup tied so no use to us in the cup. So why would the club spend that kind of money, with no guarantees of any extra points. You speak as though signing Adebayor would be a loss unless we got into Europe as a result. Lets say Adebayor's wages to the end of the season would be £1.5 million. If signing him meant that we finished 3 places higher than we otherwise would, then we would have made a small "profit" on the deal because each place is worth over £1 million in merit payments. 3 places higher and we'd make a significant profit and even 1 place higher would mean we recouped most of the cost. Fair points all round Lakeland but its a no from me. The team spirit we have right now is good in all honesty, with everyone battling to start. Do we really need a player who has been clearly recognised in the past through other players and the press as being disruptive and a poor attitude...? Take a step back just for a moment and think logically - of all the teams in Europe and there's hundreds, you're telling me we cant find anyone better than Adebayor...??? Seriously ???? If we dont sign anyone I wont piss me pants like lots will do after 11.00 tonight and I very much doubt you will either.......but a striker and winger would be good. If not - c'est la vie as they in the Rome !! Its gonna be a pisser come 11.00 pm tonight !!! Looking forward to it

I hate dealing with Spurs and that wily bastard Daniel Levy. They seem to sell & loan players out at vastly inflated prices. Its like Lennon going for 10m, Crouch 10m and Palacios 8m.
Theres no way we should pay Adebayor 100k a week in wages that Spurs can then re-invest to compete against us.
He will turn out to be past it with a shit attitude.
Was a top player but we need players who want to wear the red & white. This would be a big waste of money which will only help Spurs.
Let him rot in the reserves and burn a hole in Tottenhams bank balance

SSN saying there is nothing doing at QPR all day, nothing big or small
So there will be 27 signings today with floppy chops central to deadline day on Sky!
Desperate stuff - I honestly think we are OK with what we have, anything we do get is a brucey bobus

I'd rather bring in Demba Ba. Before his knee explodes obviously.

I'm probably the only one, but I would prefer a loan deal for Lennon! I'm not a big fan of Adebayor any longer to be honest, Kenwyne in disguise?

MailSami Mokbel: Here's a quick update on Emmanuel Adebayor's situation at Tottenham.
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp wants to take him on loan – but his £100,000-per-week wages remain the key stumbling block.
Told QPR can only pay around £40,000 of that, meaning Spurs must stump up the rest. Will Daniel Levy agree to that? Probably not.
Sportsmail also understands chairman Tony Fernandes needs some convincing with regards to Adebayor's character, the chairman a little wary of his reputation of being a troublemaker.
One thing in QPR's favour, though, is that Adebayor is hugely reluctant to move from his north-west London home. Stoke and West Brom are keen on Adebayor, too.
But his reluctance to leave the capital places question marks over those possible moves. A move to QPR means he wouldn't have to move.

Naw, we wont be sellin' anyone, coz I dawnt know haaa ta use a phown and I dawnt even know wot an email is, gavn'r. Rumour has it that their transfer targets have each been offered 8 year contracts at 120k a week." "Wewwll, we 'ad to do samink. Bat even if it don't pay orrrff, we'll go daahn to the Champ and we'll get an advaaaarrrnce on the awld pawachute payments." Cunt.

dfouble Spurs deal perhaps on the cards for us?
Got to be honest for the money they would both cost in wages and fees I think we can do better.
Koeman has a couple of interesting players lined up that would make the money difference look massive

Adebayor doesn't fancy QPR loan move
Neil Ashton is here with a little more detail on Adebayor...
Emmanuel Adebayor is proving to be the complication in a proposed loan move to QPR - because the Tottenham forward doesn't want to go there.
Adebayor has told Spurs he will wait for other options to emerge, but QPR are the only team to have opened formal talks over a loan move until the end of the season.

Adebayor could be a decent signing on a loan until the end of the season, he's typicaly good for the first season, we could send him back at the end of his loan spell.

A long shot I reckon but last time he played for them here , I remember watching him and thinking he would be perfect for us . Hughes seems able to motivate players ok , but the financial side of it will be hard . Not sure Levey would pay £100 k a week though so that may be high

I would take him until the end of the season as he would fit our system well. Terrible attitude though, he'll be on fire for the rest of the season then revert to his usual demeanour when signed permanently.
Loan without permanent move would be ideal.

Took a while to get rid of kenwynne - I'd be ditching arnie if it wasn't for the fact that the penny seems to have dropped over the past six weeks.

The fact that Harry is after him at QPR should tell you all you need to know:
Past it - Tick Overpaid - Tick Bad attitude - Tick
Hope he goes QPR on a 10 year contract at 120k per week and bankrupts the fuckers scoring 1 goal in those 10 years
