A right back is more important, Bardsley doesn't fill me with confidence at all. Totally agree.......there will always be weak links, and even when they are resolved somebody else will become a weak link and on it goes. Bardsley and Wilson are our weak links, they are not pathetically bad but they are our poorest players in the first 11, Walters is in form but we still need a forward to find goals more regularly

I can't see any reason why we'd possibly need Wilson in the side. He looks terrible with the ball at his feet and always looks ready to make a mistake. His only 'redeeming' feature is supposed to be that he's a utility player and can fill in but we have enough of them not to need him so if he wasn't here at the end of the window I'd be very happy indeed.

He was average at best. But that could be said of most of the team. The problem is a lot of people make their mind up that Wilson had a shit game before a ball is even kicked. Just like they have done/will do at various times for Whelan, Walters, Cameron etc. I don't, I quite like him at left back but I think under Hughes there he hasn't looked anything like the player who played left back for TP. His distribution was always hit and miss but it's become absolutely awful and I can't remember him not being this bad with his left foot. It's like he's got no strength in his left leg, he can barely lift the ball with it. I get what you're saying. Maybe the leg break has had an impact on his physical ability. For me he's still a useful utility defender who gives the squad the depth a top half prem side needs.

That's his role but it's slowly diminishing, he's 4th choice centre back, 3rd choice right back, 5th choice in midfield and his best is 2nd choice left back. He's on a fair old wedge I'd imagine, he's been a regular in the side in recent years and we need another left back......

But I wouldn't rule out a Walters-like phoenix from the flames resurrection and him nailing down a starting place next season. He seems able to step up when he's been written off.

It'd have to be left back surely? And if it is that just be shit because his lack of a left foot just kills us. And maybe, I still think he's been a shite signing. 6 million for a bloke who was signed as a central midfielder, who clearly can't play there so we scratched around and he ended up at left back, where admittedly he did well. But we could have got a pretty decent and here's the key bit......left footed left back for that money.
