It is really excellent news, both have SCFC now in their blood and their influence off the field of play shouldn't be underestimated. Whelan will take some shifting from his rock solid performances as DM. Crouch offers us something different and provides options up front. Diouf is unconvincing in my view and Wingy may not recover his form of last season or even be offered a new contract which leaves us very short even if we find a top notch striker in the summer. Why anybody is questioning these contracts beggars belief, Hughes doesn't seem to me to be sentimental when it comes to offering new contracts to older players like the previous manager was.

Good news- plus it means Tone will come wading in with a £10 million offer for both of them. I agree, good news, but Tone will offer more than £10 million.

Delighted on both Counts ! Gobsamcked by the Crouch ambivelence here and there - the mans still a very, very, good top class football player, that does it all over the pitch for us and yet, some just cant / wont see his contribution overall - leaving me, well - mystified completely I reckon QPR wish they had him to select on Saturday - only he's ours !!!!! and, its great news he is for another couple of seasons Plus - right now, other are teams desparately spunking away tens of millions on strikers with absolutely nowhere near the class or pedigree our 'Crouchy' has

Buzzin they have both signed worth it for the dressing room spirit they bring, not to mention what they can do on the pitch for us.

Great news, glad Crouchy has signed, still plenty to offer.
Signing Glenn for a further 2 years is brilliant, well done Stoke! WHELAN WHELAN WHELAN!

Pulis did offer them both a contract at West Brom and this is how they responded to playing there

I am all for Crouch staying but only if it is on a significantly less wage than when he first joined.
Surely we can't afford to have a 34/35 year old earning around 50k a week can we?

Great news on both particularly as they're THREE YEAR contracts. Two years plus a third based on appearances.

I think the appearances in the second year may be a telling factor/ Watch them tail off significantly. I can't see Crouch being any more than a squad player next season and probably third choice behind a new striker and Diouf. Whelan probably has another good season in the tank but I'd expect us to have signed another quality midfielder this time next year as competition for him and N'Zonzi. Crouch will not be here in three years' time.

At 35 is Crouchy going to become any less skilled .....or any shorter??? Can not understand anyone's problem with this deal especially at a time when the club is raking in money left right and centre.

Positive news. It would cost a fair few bob to replace Glen and Crouch does give us something different if we need to change a game.
