It's pretty clear. As yet we haven't got the extra allocation that giving us the upper tier will allow. Whether we get those or not has yet to be confirmed.
As things stand, 1400+ have been sold and the remaining tickets go on sale to Season ticket holders tomorrow. That remaining allocation has been split for on-line purchases and telephone purchases and when either of those allocations are gone, that's your lot...Unless having sold the 4200+ tickets we then manage to secure the additional tickets that the Upper Tier would allow us.
As things stand, this fixture won't make General Sale so those without access to a Season Ticket are looking stuffed for now, unless of course they try to go in the home end.

It's the wording of it that is confusing as it states ...'Supporters should note that ONCE EACH ALLOCATION has been exhausted no more tickets will be available to purchase.' The bit I've put in CAPS really is bad English and doesn't make sense unless they mean both allocations i.e. the lower and upper allocations.

Can understand the police trying to keep numbers down if they have to cover other big matches, but only Bolton playing same day in GMP area. And I can't understand the SCFC statement "Supporters should note that once each allocation has been exhausted no more tickets will be available to purchase." They don't say this allocation, but each allocation as though there is more than one allocation - odd, unless they are referring to each block in the lower tier Aren't they referring to the different allocations they have given to digital sales, telephone sales and personnel sales? Ie. when all the digital allocation is gone there won't be any more tickets sold digitally. And the TOTAL allocation for each of those is allocations is the lower tier - only, therefore by default we won't be getting the upper tier? It's terribly worded.

Why would anyone put that their ONE allocation of tickets is TWO allocations when what they really mean is, it is ONE allocation that can be purchased in TWO different ways.

It looks like they are releasing them in blocks so it may just be the lower blocks and once they have gone that is it. There could be fun on the trains though as to get to Blackburn you change at Crewe and Preston. Forrest are away to Blackpool!!!!!!!

I completely agree with you about the allocation(s) part of the statement Dave but I'm not sure I agree with you about the upper tier still being potentially available. Why would they issue a statement saying that they had requested the upper tier and then AFTER (and that's the important bit) that, issue another statement saying that when the lower tier allocations have been exhausted then there wouldn't be any more tickets at all? Surely if there was the possibility that there would be, they would say so, rather than definitively saying that there won't?

It's really not hard to understand.
The 4,200 tickets (minus the 1,400 already sold) will be split between online sales, telephone sales & over the counter sales.... Helps to give everyone a chance. Not everyone can book their ticket online at 1am, likewise not everyone can spend an hour queuing down the ground tomorrow morning.
Once all the, lets say, over the counter tickets have gone you'll ONLY be able to buy them online or on the phone. Once the 4,200 have gone THAT'S IT, there will be NO MORE tickets.

All I said was they've worded it wrong. Instead of saying there are two ways to buy tickets they have made out we've got two allocations.

when the police need to step in like this it just sends out a message that they are not competent to police a big event.

So with the smaller allocation what are the chances of this getting to general sale?

It doesn't say anywhere that the extra allocation requested has been declined or that the police have stepped in?
Maybe Blackburn are waiting to see if we sell these before releasing more?

I read it as those remaining tickets allocated to online sales, once exhausted, there wouldn't be more for sale on-line. I aren't saying we will get the Upper Tier and I don't think we will given that the police restricted our following there before but I believe we are still pushing for those extra tickets but can't be certain of getting them.

I don't think our ticket office staff have qualifications in English literature mate.
It may be a bit ambiguous but if you've bought tickets for away games before, a little bit of thought and it is pretty easy to understand.
I guess the messageboard fraternity just love a good old moan, whatever the subject! :-)

There are 3 ways to purchase, online,by phone or at the counter. Each method has been ALLOCATED a finite number of tickets once exhausted that is it Eg once the tickets ALLOCATED to phone sales have gone they have gone.

Lancashire police have refused our application for the full Blackburn end due to safety concerns over stewarding. Stoke, Blackburn and the police are still talking of a resolution, as of yet our original allocation is all we are getting but the club hope some lee way may be got from the police

Stoke, Crewe, Preston, Blackburn is the easiest train route surely? I'm pretty sure it was GMP that effectively scuppered our chances of the big allocation last time though which is ridiculous really given that the police jurisdiction for this game is the Lancashire Constabulary.

Exactly my mate, that's how I read it and posted earlier. I live in burnley and have loads of rovers mates and I've text them asking if they are aware of not granting us any extra allocation and what they have said is this : they don't often allocate the upper tier to away fans but when they do is is of the understanding that the police are happy and that the away club can guarantee the sale of the extra allocation due to running costs of opening the stand. I hope they give it us and can't see why not as we have had it before. Let's see and wait and until I see the words on the official site saying : BLACKBURN ROVERS DECLINE STOKES REQUEST or THE POLICE DECLINE STOKES REQUEST then I will believe we are not getting more tickets. Lastly that's just my opinion.

There's going be stoke fans in the Blackburn stands if they don't give us extra tickets, but the police as usual haven't realised it yet

I agree, Wezza. GMP will be having a huge say as they wont want 7,000 Stoke bowling around Manc before & after.
