Neymar's absence dominated the build up to Brazil's semi final v Germany. Each press conference involved questions about his absence and Scolari was happy to indulge them. Even during the national anthems the players held up his shirt. While it is a display of team spirit it also undermines the players on the park. instead of concentrating on what could be achieved they focused on what had been lost. We have to play the rest of the season without our star player, our most popular player for many years. As deflating as it is we must remember we are having a healthy season and we still have possibilities to continue growing. Its a loss but not a fatal blow. A win on Saturday will blow us back up!!

I don't think we need worry on that score Joe. I can't imagine any scenario where Hughes & the team will go as overboard as those daft Portuguese speaking gypsies

Brazil were already in free fall. The economic situation in Brazil was swept under the rug while the national team were winning.
It was patent to see that they were papering over the cracks with a poor team. Neymar was carrying too much responsibility and hope for the country.
We are generally in good shape, and hopefully we can expect our reasonable squad to step up to the plate in the absence of the Little Matador.
Stoke fans everywhere can now help galvanize our club at this time.
Let's do eet for Bojan!

In this World Cup brazil had the worst team I've ever seen them field. They wouldn't have made it to the semis were it not from a little help from the refs. Fred and Jo ffs!!!! So no this has absolutely nothing to do with our situation imo

Said the same to my missus the other day, but that's what happens when you both drink two bottles of wine and leave a BIC razor lying around.......

The only mistake we must avoid is rushing the lad back too soon now. Let him recover, show him loads of care and offer him a new deal to show him how wanted he is here.
Then reap the rewards.

I think we may lose another game before the season ends, just saying like.

What we must do is not get relegated like last year when we didn't have bojan.

We have lost him for the rest of the season, but we will still have 11 players on the pitch when we kick off our remaining games.

I reckon that game against Germany was a one-off, Joe. IMHO, it wasn't just because of the loss of Neymar that they lost so embarrassingly; more important I reckon was the loss of Silva. David Luiz spent the whole game in a state of nervous shock because he was so pumped up with adrenalin. He was like a rabbit in headlights; trying to do everybody else's job and not being able to do his own.
OS.

Thing is the Neymar thing was such an obsession it might have stopped them preparing properly. We must remember to win our games and not wallow too much in being Bojless.

And bring in a quality signing to lessen the blow; someone with a bit of oomph who can grab a game by it's testicles.
