You have to be joking! How can you compare Ireland to Nzonzi? Its about as bizarre as saying Moses over Whelan? They are totally different players and furthermore Nzonzi is top notch. A club of our status will struggle to get a better midfield player than Nzonzi. If we do, he won't be here very long. Why do people keep saying they are two different players in different positions? We all know ireland plays a little further forward for us but that's not my point. My point is the things he does I listed above. Everything I've been waiting for a midfielder to do for ages watching stoke. he was often in nzonzi's position in the middle of the pitch, spun and threaded through balls for runners. Turns defence into attack very quickly. I really hope he gets a run of games where he will get better and better. we better hope we don't resist one of those massive offers for nzonzi this week. Sweet Jesus.

I like Ireland as a footballer as I've posted elsewhere. He is a very good and very intelligent footballer. He is never fit enough to get a consistent run in the team and it would sum his time up here, with Bojan likely to be out on Saturday, if he was unavailable for selection due to illness or a niggling injury he picks up on Friday. The pass that led to Moses goal was sublime and his vision and ability to play in tight spaces is exceptionally good. This. In general I think he's a very tidy footballer. His one touch play and use of the ball last night in particular set him head and shoulders above Rochdale, which is exactly where he should be of course. He also seems to have the knack of making those late runs in to the box. I think it's easy to see why he was so highly rated a youngster. It's just a pity that he picks up niggly injuries. But Bojan is a massive upgrade to Ireland, let's hope he's not out too long.

Two or three class one touch lay offs. Hopefully he can continue it against better opposition.

He played well last night; it still does not hide the fact that he has yet to grab hold of a game that we are behind in or where we are under the cosh in a game that we are desperately trying to keep a toehold in. In those games he has disappeared faster than Jordan's knickers - if this is the "new" Steven Ireland, then great. I imagine he will have the perfect opportunity to demonstrate his ability to dominate a game against QPR - I hope he produces in that game too.

With no real competition he should be a nailed on start. Without that competition I guess we'll have to wait and see how things pan out.

Ireland is completely different to bojan, he isn't a player who can pick the ball in the half way line and run with it. Bojan never stays still, always running creating space, Ireland has a tendancy to wonder even showed last night.

Our team don't really play to Bojans strengths or his for that matter. Both players speed of thought is exceptional but we never get the ball to their feet quick enough , usually kick it beyond them. At 2 nil last night against a poor side we were playing long ball football which was mind boggling. Anytime we attacked them on the deck we caused them problems.

4quit, I am not prepared to accept two goals against Wrexham as ajustificatio that Ireland is a game dominator. We were shit against Wrexham, every single player - if the Wrexham keeper had'nt made such a balls up of Ireland's first goal, we would have ended up having to beat them in a replay. For me,we willmost likely be treated to the Ireland who played against Villa first game of the season, when he is asked to perform against QPR. I hope I am wrong, and he starts to consistently display the talent he has got.
