If I set off at 18:15 to head to Rochdale will I be able to make it on time?
My Maps says its a 1hour 11 minute journey but I don't know what the traffic will be like on the Monday Night and with other match traffic.
Any insight?

You'll do bloody well to get anywhere near the ground for kick off leaving at that time, if the M6 doesn't get you the M62 or the M60 will...

Why not motor up at lunchtime and spend the afternoon perusing the boutiques, maybe take afternoon tea at one of artisan cafes or a couple of hours at an art house cinema or gallery before heading to the ground in good time for kick off?

What times are the trams back from Rochdale to Manchester, my last train is 23.15, it's supposedly a 40 minute tram trip from shudehill to Rochdale?

Your problem will to be get to a tram by 22:20 to meet the 23:13 trains deadline.
20:05 kick off, it's going to be 21:55 before the final whistle.
You are going to have to hot foot it to get to the tram as they run from the town centre which is a brisk 15 min walk.
As with most grounds, the surrounding streets will become gridlocked within 2 seconds of that final peep peep.

Cheers guys, just looks like I'm going to have to give it a miss which I was going to have to do anyway as I don't finish work until 18:00.
Was just going to check before buying a ticket as I was going to give it a try if the thoughts were positive lol.
Cheers anyway guys, good luck to everyone making the trip as it sounds like a nightmare.

That's my plan! I also thought to take in some ethnic dancing and perhaps some body painting.

that last train back involves a 4 hour wait at another station or summat. Coach/drive or nowt if you're going from SOT

daleylama, what is the situation regarding car parking? I gather its residents only close to the ground, but what is it like elsewhere?

We're leaving at 5.15 should be there on time? I know what the traffic is like on the M60 and M62. Not taking any chances and leaving at 4, if we get there too early we will get some food and chill out before the game

If you are traveling from the Stoke area I find the A34 to Alderleredge then use the bypass, then duel carriage way all the way to the motorway.

The traffic is shocking guys every night from the M62 Birchwood up to Worsley/Eccles M60 interchange and past the Trafford Centre, then through to the Rochdale turn off at the Junction with the M627. I'm leaving work at 16:00pm (Warrington) then heading across to Stockport the pick my lad and his mate up, then getting on the M60 at Stockport, off at Jnc 21, pick up the A633 heading towards Oldham then onto the M627, under the M62 into Rochdale then across Roch Way towards Spotland. Travelling from Stoke I would go along the A34 through Congleton/Alderley Edge/Cheadle/Gatley etc to East Didsbury/Parrs Wood then join the M60 eastbound towards Stockport/Ashton/Oldham etc, then get off at Jnc21 where I'm getting off. Don't touch the M6 or M56 if you can help it (loads of 50mph stretchs but you do about 15/20mph if your lucky). Doddle coming back though, Get there early and have a couple of cold one's in the Cememtry
